Theft Identity Protection Program

I may have missed a discussion on this topic somewhere, but I am wondering if anyone knows about a Theft Identity Program that insures you for $1 million and guarantees your identity is safe. Think they may have run some TV commercials. What's this all about?

Ang, thanks for the information. Interesting web site. Sorry I missed GMA's blurb on it. Not sure about a couple of issues it raises, but will study it some more. Have a day filled with abundance and joy!

Ya know kam i was just thinking and i'm NO expert on this matter or as knowledgable as others here but i now have true credit that monitors my reports. The cost is $14.95 per month which i personally find VERY well worth the money. Anytime anything changes on my report i'm notified thru email immediately. So if someone tries to get credit in ur name ud be notified by true credit and could stop it right away...
So is kinda like an insurance policy but doesn't pay out... but would there be a need for that if u caught the theft immediately??
Just an after thought,
Ang

The threads I posted were older - They were just talking about the million dollar ID theft protection, not about the story Ang was talking about.

Freezing your credit is a new concept to me. Did a little looking into it and apparently Georgia does not allow you to do this. Have some mixed emotions about doing something that drastic, but it sure appears to have some very positive aspects. Does anyone out there have any experience with this, if so how is it working out?

Also seems like this isn't a very good idea if ur gonna be getting credit for anything any time soon.... might get costly to take off the freeze a few times.

Regarding credit freezes November 1 2007 is d-day to freeze the spawn of satan=Experian. Even if your state does not have laws abour freezing, check with credit bureaus as they are allowing nationwide freezes for a fee of course.
