hi everybody! i need some advice. recently i came across my old friend who is a victim of identity theft. i got

to hear some of the horror stories relating to identity theft and after i visited this site i am literally loosing my

sleep just out of the tension that something like this might happen to me someday. till date i have had no

major problems as far as finance is concerned, and i dont want to get into any such mess. can anyone please

provide me with some tips so that i do not fall a prey to identity theft?

Well One tip I can be sure of is never to apply on line for a pay day loan! Never click on things in emails and never give out your info to these emails.Thats my 2 tips.

safe guard all of your personal information and do not respond to questionable emails...there are alot of fake emails being circulated that are trying to steal your identify information. Do not respond to them until you are 100% that it belongs to the entity that is truly legit

Be very careful with your personal information and safeguard, safeguard, safeguard it! Identity theft can even happen in the doctor's office--as a former coworker of mine can attest to. The doctor's MA stole information off her credit card slip.

I wondered about that. We hand over our card to so many people who work in offices and who's to say they are all honest people?

I agree with you, we have to be careful while dealing with our credit as well as debit cards. For safety measures I always keep a photocopy of the cards and keep it in a safe place. We all think that id theft can't happen to us....but no body is safe these days.....your identity can be even stolen from your home. It's scary Sad
