I have a total of three technically outstanding. I am sorry to post this in a new topic but I need quick response.
I have 390 outstanding at Upfrontpayday.com
808 outstanding at The cahs Store
I live in Illinois. I could pay down the Cash store one if I could get out of the other one which I have payed over 500 dollars in fees and interist. I know they are based out of UTAH. How can I find out if they are licensed in Illinois. The third one is a credit line with US bank for 500. I really like US bank and would like to keep banking there. Any advice would be fantastic.

Upfrontpayday are not licensed in Illinois. The interest rate on the loan is probably more than your state allows, but double-check in case you haven't already.
Are they still debiting your account? If so, see if your bank will block the debit for upfrontpayday, and then send them a letter via certified mail/return receipt requested, advising them of the payday loan laws for your state and that you have paid what you are legally obligated to and are not prepared to pay anything further. State that you are hereby revoking authorization for them to debit your account in any way, and have notified your bank of this. Any further attempts to debit your account will be considered unauthorized and fraudulent, and you will instruct your bank to file an affidavit of fraud against them.
Request that they mark your loan as "Paid in Full" and to send you written confirmation that his has been done. Inform them that if they are not prepared to do this, you will file complaints with the BBB and the Illinois Attorney General's office so they can follow-up the matter.

i got in trouble with payday loans and i spoke signed with a company called PDL Assistance. They are awsome. The harrassing calls pretty much stopped once I signed up and they have stopped. You may want to check them out and see if they can help you. i think it was pdlassistance.com . I hope they can help you like they helped me

You do realize that dave isn't a pdlassistance customer, right? He works for them and signed on as as a guest to advertise his business. (Not that it's a big deal. People from Langhorne, T&C and a lot of other companies do the same thing . . .)
If you want to use a company to resolve your pdl's that's your business, but you can save your money and do it yourself too. (Plenty of help available on this board FOR FREE!)
You just need to close your bank account so they stop debiting. Then you need to figure out a few things:
1) Are they licensed in your state?
2) If not, what it the maximum an UNLICENSED lender in your state can charge.
3) How much have you paid them so far? (in dollars, forget what they say about it all going to fees)
In most states an unlicensed lender can only charge 6 to 10% annually. So, if you borrowed $300 and live in a 6% state, the most you can owe and unlicensed lender for a two week loan is $300.69.
Now the lender probably charged $30 per $100. If you made three "fee" payments, that's $270. So you only owe $30.69 (Yes, math wizzes, the number is off because the balance should have gone down, interest compounds, etc. But we're talking pennies.)
Now let's say you made five fee payments. The lender is up roughly $150 on you. Some people have successfully demanded refunds (I never got one, but you could try.) but you're probably better off (at least in terms of aggravation) simply demanding a PIF letter.
Now don't expect the lenders to just say okey dokey to this. You'll have to be willing to file complaints with your state AG and banking authorities. Sometimes the threat is enough and sometimes you have to carry through.
Not easy I know, but it beats the heck out of paying hundreds of dollars for someone to do it for you, doesn't it?

The Cash Store, a storefront place is operating illegally in my state considering they feature rollovers and accepted a post dated check. Isnt that right? Do I have a case with them or are the storefronts too hard to deal with. Also, can I preemtively demand for Upfrontpayday to not contact my work?

Technically, that is not a rollover. You go in on the due date and give them cash to get your check back. When you give them the amount the post-dated check was written for, the pay off that loan and just issue a new one if you tell them you want to re-borrow. A rollover is where you are not paying the loan off on the due date, just paying a finance charge like you do to the internet lenders.
You can send Upfrontpayday a letter advising them that you are not allowed to receive personal calls at work, and doing so jeopardizes your employment. Make sure to send the letter via certified mail/return receipt requested, so you have proof that they signed for the letter. Also, if they call and speak to someone else where you work, that person can advise them immediately that you are not allowed to receive personal calls at work.

Also, in answer to your question about how pdlassistant.com works, it is not consolidation of your payday loans like the company T&C. It is a settlement program. I am not too sure about a company doing debt settlement with payday lenders. I am curious as to the success rate and to hear feedback from legitimate customers.
I know that some of the payday lenders I was dealing with would not respond to anything from the company I was working with, therefore, debt settlement would not have worked. As FreakyFriday said, you usually have better success when you handle the payday lenders yourself. Once you stop them from being able to access your bank account, advise them that you are aware of your state payday loan laws and how they are in violation and tell them that you are filing complaints against them with the BBB and your state Attorney General's Office, they are usually a bit more cooperative.

First off, I do not send a check to The Cash Store. They automatically deduct the interist and fees from my account (just like an internet PDL). Dont know if that matters.
To frustrate matters: I just got back from the bank. Because of the cash advance I took out (an option US bank offers for those with direct deposit) they could not close out my account because I didnt have enough balance to cover the advance. What we did instead was order a stop payment on the next Upfrontpayday amount of 130. The problem is that it may not work OR they may try to change the amount/company name in order to avoid this. I havent sent them a letter yet and now im afraid they will get wise to me and try to get my money.
In short, what we hoped would happen is that On the day of the PDL payment, I would also get paid. That wouuld bring my advance to 0 balance and then I could close the account and open a new one. THe whole time this is going on the amount of 130 scheduled to be deducted by Upfrontpayday SHOULD be denied by my bank. Does this sound good enough or should i be doing something else?
Also, could someone tell me what is T & C and how can i contact them? Also, can I search the internet for a letter to send to upfrontpayday that will cover all my bases?
Thanks so much for all your help. As im sure many of you know this is such a hard time for a father and husband not having control of your money.
