A website/blog can help you share your thoughts and earn some more money (as dividends) in long run. Are you with the same thoughts OR am I am just a techy head?

Myself Sharon. I'm pretty new to this community.
I do maintain a few blogs but haven't been able to monetize them yet. There are not enough clicks on ads.
Can anyone suggest?

Keep working on good content, once you are getting enough visits put different ads and test the ones that are working for you. You can use Google's A/B and multi variant testing with Google optimizer.

I started my first blog Christmas Day last year. I knew NOTHING about blogging but it was pretty easy to figure out. I started it because I was inspired by a few blogs I read by debtcc members before I even became one. That is what made me join here and realize...hey I am not the only one going through this stuff! I use it now to keep track of where I am going and where I have been in my fight against debt. I was hesitant to put it all out there on the "world wide web" but I do maintain my anonymity. It definitely helps me deal with stuff when I write it all in my blog. If someone reads it and gets inspired-it makes it all the better.
As far as making money with it-I have not made much.I hope to but as it stands right now since Christmas-I got a whole 10 bucks in my Google Adsense account. Maybe it will change once I get more readers. We will see. The way I look at it is, that is $10 more than I had before I started the blog for a few minutes of my time.

girlndebt, good work with the blog. It has some good content. All you need is some 2 topics a week, which are of high quality. The posts that are coming out of self experience and are detailed attract more traffic. It will take time to pickup. Keep blogging regularly and do ask other bloggers to add you to their blogroll.
You can also start - Topic of the week from forums across the web. Take a new topic which appears on any of the forums and discuss about it.

Thanks Denny, I will definitely be taking your advise on my blog content/traffic. I hope I do get more traffic and can earn more. Whatever I make out of it-I have it checked that debtcc gets a portion of the proceeds. Why? Because this site is incredible with great people. I am so glad I found this place.

why is making money after being indebted and owing others money..the reason that got you here..now the reason that you stick around?

We never ban people for raising any point rather we have appreciate such moves. I guess we enjoyed a good experience (and sometimes some downs too)
I am so sorry but I think you got it wrong. This forum is where people can discuss how they have increased their income by taking up additional jobs or doing work from home etc.
You can create a blog anywhere on the web to earn money while sharing your experience. Web is more distributed, there is no king. Anyone posting a page will benefit from that page. It is a general discussion and has nothing to do with DebtCC. Also nothing to do with taking money from people who are in debt. (Please do help me understand the concern better)
Please keep participating and raising the concerns. We really appreciate it.

I think that it is a great way of making extra money. I am not that good of a writer and frequently suffer from writer's block but if I was able to write a high quality blog based on my own experiences and help others then I think it is a great idea. Thanks for this forum, Denny! I think this will inspire a lot more people to start writing their own blogs and help them make extra money.
