Please tell us something about yourself?

I grew up in a lower income family that had cupboards full of generic food, government food and my parents would occasionally get money from the church to help out. I didn't understand this until I was much older as they just kept it to themselves. I lived a happy childhood not feeling that I was missing anything (We didn't have a tv until they caved when I was a teenager).
Now I look back on it all and though my family was in a situation that they may not have liked, they made the best of it and that is what was conveyed to me growing up. I hope to have that same attitude now and pass that along to others I come across.

What is your blog all about?

I like to cover topics from understanding how to live simple and frugally to consumer information to materialism and understanding our place in the world and on the earth.

What is your motivation behind this blog?

It originally started as a way to keep my links to cool ideas and websites in one central location online in case my computer ever crashed. Now it still serves that purpose but also brings that same inspiration and usefulness to others who stumble upon it.

What do you do for living?

I work in the telecommunications field and I work part-time in a cash office

What are your future plans with your blog?

Since this started out as unplanned, I am just moving along in that same direction for now (ha!) and I like to keep doing what I'm doing.

Would you like to share any tips to people who are in debt?

I understand debt as I filed bankruptcy in 1998, I understand the spiraling depression and increased debt that can come from payday loans, I also understand that until I say "enough is enough" and take seriously where I am going and that it will involved sacrifice and delayed gratification, I won't get out of debt cycle. Once that attitude comes in, then I start finding out where my money is going (write down everything I spend) and plug the holes. This would include cutting up credit cards and shutting off or closing down all items that are not necessary - from cable tv to vending machine buys.

Apart from frugal for life which are your favorite blogs?

I love reading PFadvice. com, the Simple living forum (http://www.simpleliving.net/forums/), and it's always nice to get free stuff, so I check out free stuff times (http://www.freestufftimes.com/) often. Those are just a few as I read over 100 personal finance blogs, green living sites and frugal blogs.
