Hi friends,

The wait is finally over. Well, I know that we are late in announcing the result, because we were not ready with the interface to make the necessary announcements. I apologize for that.

Please visit the following url to vote for the best answer. The voting will remain open for two days and after that we’ll declare the winner. And, as all of you know that the winner will get a gift check of $50. Very Happy

I would like to thank you all for your participation, as we have received total number of fifty-seven responses (Man, I can’t believe it). And also thanks for all your patience and co-operation.

Hope we’ll be able to keep our promises for next time onward to declare the results in time.

Regards,
Jason

Yay! Thank you Jason, I will be reading through them tonight. Can you vote for more than one, or is each member limited to one vote?

Jason -

I also have a question - is it fair to allow voting on all the answers, or only those who replied within the week that the contest was supposed to be open? It ended up staying open much longer than it should have, due to lack of admin staffing (which we all understand) - so I guess I'm just wondering if it's fair to allow voting on those that answered after the week was up.

Also, if we answered the question ourselves, are we allowed to vote? I would think probably not, but I don't see anything clarifying that.

Yeah- I would like to know that too, SueBEE!!

Aslo, what's keeping someone from voting 50 times for themselves, or is it just one vote each?..karen

Okay, lemme try to answer to all your queries one by one. But first, thanks for all your feedbacks. The questions you have raised are absolutely valid. These are really helpful and will help us to improve the interface.

Shazz, a member is allowed to vote for more than one answer, but his/her quota is restricted to one vote per answer, i.e. one can vote only once for any particular reply.

Bossy, we have a programming running which will bar the members form manipulating the votes. It’ll detect if the member tries to vote more than once for an answer.

Well, that’s a tricky question. We have decided to leave this matter on the members. However, one can vote only once. Hence, you actually mayn’t get the opportunity to popularize your answer by manipulating polls.

I agree Sue, but this time we actually failed in managing it effectively. We were not ready with the interface to conduct the poll at the right time. Hence, this time, we can’t deny the responders a fair chance to win on the humanity ground. So, for this time only, vote for all the answers. However, I’m expecting it to run smoothly from next time onward.

Thanks once again for all the feedbacks. If you have any more queries please shoot it to me.

Regards,
Jason

So the polls should be closed by now, right?
