Hello Jedie! In reading some of your smart comments I couldn’t help myself but ask you for advice. So here it goes...I sent my second VL to a CA that has not only failed to provide me with proper validation on my first request, but has reported this “unvalidated” debt with a credit bureau (since 2005 when they opened the account), and also made a recent false payment under the OC account trying to re-age it. SOL in California is 4 years and the OC account was closed in 2001.I have also sent a dispute letter to the CRA and I’m waiting on the outcome. As far as I understand, the CA has already violated federal law with the FDCP, right? I think I need to get ready to sue these guys, and also repot them to the BBB, AG, FTC, what else?? I’m fed up!!!Could you advise me on how to proceed with making complaints and filing a lawsuit against the CA?Thanks in advance for your help!!! | |

Hey there Jedi Mistress Ari, I saw your comment that you used to collect defaulted student loans. I need your help! I have $75K in private student loans from Citi and they want $900/month for 30 years! This equals nearly $300K in finance charges. My student loan debt - income ratio is almost 70% so I obviously can't afford these payments. Will the collections department renegotiate the terms of my loan? Is there any hope? I'd like to go into details but I don't want to take up pages and pages just yet. Any tips will help. Thanks! | |

I have a question is it legal for the Debt Collection Agency to show one amount one month and a higher amount next month because the original company decided to add late fees and charges accumulated? I was ready to pay off and suddenly I can not. Help? | |

Hi,I just paid off a student loan in full that was held by Wests.The US DOE referred me to them as they now were handling the account. I had to pay this debt in order to clear my tabers numbers with the DOE that is attached to my ss #. Did I make a mistake paying this loan off through them, I had no choice as the loan needed to be paid off before I could close on a refi on my house with the FHA. Westshave been good with faxing settlement letters and other info needed to my bank and now they tell me they will fax a letter of proof of payment to them as soon as the payment I made today via the phone post in 2 business day. This student loan has been following me around for more than 25 yearsit was settled for 2,050 dollars.DO you think I made a mistake?Any info would help ease my mind,I read that you helped a man and his wife with a student loan issue thats why I decided to contact you.
