Hello.I am from NYC and help out indigent perons with law by doing a little parra legal work for them such as answering civil suits and supplying defenses for personal injury cases. I am somewhat a layman but people like dealing with me because I don't piss in thier ears and tell them it's raining like most attorney's do. I am also unfurmillure with "debt" default judgments even though they may be similar to other civil defailt causes. Their laws, protections, wordings are a little different. so I am writting you this to thank you for posting a copy of your motion to help start me off in the right direction phasing aand/or other. I was run over by a car while working on 12/01/2005. I have been out of work to date and changed my residency 4 times and even after 3 operations still have one more to go. I basically lost evreything including my bank account etc. I was cashing my disability checks at the check cashing but the fee they charged could go for other bills. so my sisterinlaw opend a joint account just for the purpose of cashing my checks which were for rent and survival of my four children wife and I. I found out I had a default against me when my sisterinlaw deposited tywo checks $1600. in December 2007 for the purpose of paying rent and coned. Only to find out that the bank froze the account gave the moneey to the dtreditor's and charged the account $100. legal fee. I cant begin to tell you the problems that cause. nevertheless I want to thank you again and if you have any other info since youve been through this. pleae let me know. Gee, I thought I was alone in this. These people from Pinnacle are ruthless. I told them NOT to call my place of work, but they do. And I bought a book titled The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt. Staples. Great information. The best thing I have read was to release your own guilt so you can take action. So many of us got here because of the arrogance and selfishness of others, not as a result of our own greed. In my case, as a giving, intelligent, self-confident and independant woman, the legal system failed the honest party when I divorced an abusive one of their own. Get EVERYTHING from collections people in writing and demand that they DO NOT CALL YOU AT WORK. Do not be intimidated and exercise your rights! And remember, you are worth respect. | |
