agency offering counseling and mediation in debt and financial related issues.
The company provides budget counseling, debt management, and also educates the
consumer regarding the wise use of credit and money management.
Housing & Credit Counseling started its business from 1972 and presently
has three branches. The members are charged $25 as one time sign up fees and
then a monthly fee of $5 per creditor with a ceiling of $20 per month.
Housing & Credit Counseling works with both the objective of helping their
members repay their debts and also helping the creditors receive the money owed
to them. The company promises to try its best in reducing or stopping interest
payment, late fees, over limit fees and also updating the member's credit account.

Needs to reduce its charges.
Their debt consolidation service is excellent. Also they are good at negotiating interest rates. But, they have plenty of hidden fees. The sign-up fees is acceptable, but something definitely has to be done about the monthly fees and added to that are the other ‘requirement fees’ the company charges from time to time. Else, this is a wonderful company who knows what it is all about in customer satisfaction.

Good negotiator of rates.
This company is a good negotiator of rates. They substantially reduced my interest rate. I had over $7,000 in debt arising out of various small loans I had taken from different places. The company which I had earlier approached had said that it was not possible to consolidate all loans from so many different sources. But when I approached Housing & Credit Counseling with my problem, they helped me with assurance and I have already signed on to their program and thanks to them, can dream of a better future once again.
