I have requested that they only contact me in writing and they still keep calling.
Dave, did you send your request through mail or it was just a verbal request? You need to send a letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. Once they receive the letter they should stop calling you. If they don't, you can file complaint with BBB, FTC and AG's office.

I would go with certified mail with return receipt requested because the stub that returns is evidence that you sent the letter and they received it. So further harassment can be treated legally.

Default bunch of idiots at KCA Financial

They called me 4 times this alone week for a $200 bill that is from 2002, that I have no clue for what, they wouldnt give me any information. The collector, rattled off some speech fast as anything. I told them to stop calling, I have no clue what they are talking about, they have the wrong person. They say they 100% have the right person, so I guess when I file a complaint with FDCAP, they won't be saying that when they have to find a way to pay $1,000 for each of the collectors who violated my rights under the FDCAP act.

Default They violate the rules, so they should pay

They called me 4 times, I was in a meeting with customers once, they also called when I was long distance to a customer in Brazil. They act all "hard-up", don't listen to what a person has to say. They do not have the right tactics...Even if that $200 was my bill, they are not getting a penny from me... Over my dead body do they get a commission, If I owed that, I'd rather go to court and pay triple, $600. than send a check for $200 to that company. They are all a bunch of classless loosers that do not know how to deal with people correctly. They should hire effective bill collectors. Kill them with kindness, thats how you get $ out of people, or at least figure out they have wrong person on phone.............

Default trying to have a civil conversation with a bill collector??

Your nuts too,,,,, I attempted 5 times to speak rational with these bill collectors from KCA...... My credit is in the top percentage, I work 3 jobs, in military, in an MBA program, I do not have time to deal with idiots who think I owe $200. Or at least explain where this bill from 2002 originated from, I dont even know what the bill is for, I pay my bills, I tried to explain, there comes a time, if your not paying for my time, then don't waste it and leave me alone....... or i will sue..........

if you owe money a collection agency will call you.Your job as a consumer is to investigate the debt and resolve it with proof(actual proof) that it has been paid or eradicated by the client
Who told you that?? You so called managers? The fdcpa (which apparently your company chooses not to adhere to) clearly states it is the responsibility of the Original; Creditor or Collector to prove the debts are valid, it is not the responsibility of the consumer to prove it isn't.

beside if you read through the forum. Many people have said they had proof the debt was paid, but your company refuses to accept it or look at it.

Default KCA Financial

These folks are not idiots but they have to behave the way they do to collect money. I just "behave" right back.

Most agencies give a PO Box and an 800 number which is the road to abuse.

Look up the corporate information on the website for the secretary of state for the state in which the agency is collected. That will give the names of the corporate officers. Either search "secretary of state (State) or "corporate registration (State).

Then look up the real phone number on whitepages.com or switchboard.com

To find the state where the company is located, do a nationwide search on dnb.com (Dun and Bradstreet)

In the case of KCA Financial you will strike gold because the president is listed with his home address and his telephone number is listed on Whitepages.com.

The gold is:
David E. Widrick
925 Oak Crest Lane
St. Charles, IL 60175
Tel: 1-630-377-3136

It is perfectly legitimate to contact him at this address because it is the address of record with the Secretary of State for Illiois.

Ask for Mr. Widrick when you speak to a representative. You will be told he is not in the office or some other dumb story. Just ask if you should contact him at the above address and telephone number. I promise, you will enjoy the reaction.
