Hello...I just found this site and I am not sure where to even start. All I know is that I need help and hoping for better sleep at night once this is under control.

I see you have registered with the site which is step one. If you feel comfortable, you can post more about your situation. Remember,some here have been where you are and some of us are still there. In my situation I joined this site not too long ago after realizing I need some help. I have posted and asked so many questions and everyone has been awesome here so far!

Thanks...I think right now I am going through a whirlwind of emotions and feel horrible and guilty for where we are at right now. I am at the point where I know that I can't do this on my own and picking up the phone to admit where we are at is embarassing and shameful at the same time.

Don't worry I know how it is. I just joined here a little over a month ago. I found this site late one sleepless night while searching for info on getting out of debt and bankruptcy. All I can say is that I found so much info on here and realized we were not the only family in this mess. We never speak to anyone about our finances but once I started talking to other members here-I felt such a relief! Nobody judges here and you do not need to give out your name or anything.

I know it is stressful! Hang in there. And please do not be ashamed. Just look at the news. We are not the only ones going thru this. It is very sad but it is true. You would be amazed how many people are having financial problems right now and you would never know it. People who know us still have no idea!

I agree. There is nothing to be ashamed about. There are many people out there that are in the same boat. I too have not told anyone about my troubles but coming here has really put my mind at rest. Before I found this site, I was a total basket case and could barely function. Now I know it is possible to get through this and everyone is so friendly.

What steps did you take? Work with a debt consolidatio company to pay off your debt? How does that impact your credit in the long wrong?
