Chicago and America

OK, I had one of the greatest experiences in my life at last night's show. I was working the elevator to backstage and took a food supervisor down. The door opened and I heard a keyboard being played. The guy stepped out and stepped back in to tell me that CHICAGO was jamming backstage! I opened that door for a few minutes, and sat in the elevator just listening. My own concert, just for me...I also met some of the crew that travels with them, including one of their horn technicians, who was transporting their instruments.
America did all of their standards, Sister Goldenhair, Ventura Highway, Been thru the Desert--but people were po'd because they started early and only played 45 minutes!
Chicago absolutely rocked the house and showed why they are still one of the alltime great rock bands. What a night!

Being from the 60s I am a fan since they were called Chicago Transit Authority. Does anyone really know what 25 or 6 to 4 really means? Does anyone really know what time it is?

Maybe the question was answered on Saturday in the Park--I think it was the 4th of July?

I don't know about that, but I saw people laughing, people singing. A man selling ice cream. Singing Italian songs

I am mainly a fan of the early Chicago music, with the original guitar player (who accidentally killed himself with a gun). In fact, Jimi Hendrix once said that the Chicago Transit Authority was one of the most "happening" groups.

frogpatch, the story I heard many years ago was that the group was sitting around writing lyrics when one of them asked the time. One of the other band members responded 'Oh it's 25 or 6 to 4'

So basically its a song about writing a song with a reference to the time in the refrain.

One of my favorite albums of all time is Chicago 17. You can't beat Stay the Night, Hard Habit to Break, or You're the Inspiration....but they have SO many good songs. I made a whole cd ouot of my favorite songs by them. I think there are 20 on the cd.
