Ok, let's imagine the following:

You walk into a bar, and Barack Obama is having a beer with John McCaine. You sit down next to them and presto, you have suddenly been given permission to ask 5 questions to them--anything related to debt. What would you ask? Can we get a list together?

Will you repeal the 2005 bankruptcy law?
Will you pass legislation regulating the lending industry to protect consumers against documented abusive practies?
Will you outlaw universal default?
Will you outlaw two-cycle billing?
Will you establish a federal usury law capping the interest rate lenders can charge, still giving states the right to cap it lower (but not higher)?

Will you repeal the 2005 BK law? I like that one.
Can you do anything about the out raguous overdraft fees banks charge?
Can you please stop the PayDay lenders collectors from being so mean?
Will you explain why people with bad credit get the highest interest rates, which causes them not to be able to pay and then back to defaulting we go, I just don't get that....
Can you buy me a beer, as I've paid all these crazy fees and can't afford to buy my own...Reny

Thanks Kscornell this topic sounds like fun.

Here are my 5 questions:
1. What are you going to do about US broadband adoption being so far behind other countries ?
2. How long will pay day loan companies charge exorbitant rates by calling it fees ?
3. What are you going to do about all the service jobs being
outsourced to India and China ?
4. TO McCain: Did you really say that middle class America is people
who make less then 5 million dollars a year ?
5. To Obama: Can hope really bring energy independence ?

OK,
So far, a common question we all want to know about is the 2005 BK law, along with PDL fees. I also like the question that was asked about federal usuary fees. And Jason's question about outsourcing was also great.
Let's see if there are any more questions out there that we all can relate to--and later on, I'll tell you what's behind my madness...

2)will you raise taxes as the GOP claims you will?
3)what will the gov't do to stem the mortgage crisis tide?

to MCCAIN
1)same questions as #1 & 3 for OBAMA.
2)what is your long term plan for the middle east?

enquiring minds want to know.

I would ask:
1) What are they going to do about health care for the people who need it but can't afford it?
2) What will you do to help with education
3) Bring the troops home
4) How will you help with the mortgage mess
5) How will you help creat more jobs and help the economy?

Now that we know who the canidates are, I need to do a lot of research before I cast my vote...
