Just curious what part of the country are you in and how much are you paying for gas? I found gas at $3.95 a gallon, other stations around here went up to $4.09 a gallon like in 24 hours... I am in the midwest, right smack in the middle...

Ugh! I didn't notice the price-per-gallon; however, on my first day to work I had to top off my tank (it was about a 1/4 full) and it was a whopping $64.00. I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
I think I was trying to avoid looking at the sign when I pulled into the station so I didn't bust out in tears on my way to work. Showing up all "puffy eyed" on my first day probably wouldn't make a good impression.
I have to fill up again tomorrow AM, I'll force myself to look then.

Around the Raleigh area of NC, gas is ranging any where from
$3.93 to over $4. Just depends on where you are at. We have 2 stations right across from each other and one is almost always 10 cents higher than the other one.

My brother-in-law used to work in the oil industry, and he has said for years that the long term goal of "big oil" is to get gas prices in America up to $5.00 per gallon. Even worse, I read some "expert" opinions lately that say it could get as high as $7.00 in the next couple of years.
Since my husband has to commute 175 miles round trip to work, it's a HUGE expense for us already.

Waterbury, CT - the prices range from 4.23 & up. Some of the stations around here are doing the cash/credit deal...its around $4.42 if you use your credit card & $4.32 if you pay cash...

Northern California. Just a few weeks ago I was paying $4.57 for the cheap grade, a full tank cost me about $75, and a full tank lasts me only 4 days based on the nature of my second job. The prices have started to trickle down a little, and this morning I paid $4.31
Still, it's frustrating because I have cut so so so far down on recreational use of my vehicle. I am down to using my car ONLY to work my jobs and am down to 1 grocery store run a week. It sucks that so many people are just trying to use gas just to stay hard-working, and it's still bleeding everyone dry. I remember when a full tank of gas was totally topped off at $20 for me, and I'm sure lots of folks around here remember when it was even less.
