Experian moving work overseas

I have a friend that works for Experian and they are outsourcing all of their work to Costa Rica within 6 months. The employees were told that they would be getting a severance package and that if anyone notified the general public about this they would be fired. What does everyone think of that. Do we want costa rico residents to have information of our credit information. I know I personally do not.

This is just typical of america's corporate world trying to save a buck. What does everyone think of this. My friend has worked for Experian for about 10 years. Twisted Evil

JFC!!??!! Unbelievable! Never mind losing your job, but who knows how strong security measures are in safeguarding your information, especially when it's overseas! I mean, sheesh, I can't even use my cc here in the US without it being stolen (account #) by some waiter or ATM bar code clone!

I'm just fed up with all this stuff! Sad (Thanks for letting me vent!)

I think companies that move work/factories/whatever overseas should be SURCHARGED, not given a tax break!

Unfortunatly, it's a fact of capitalism . . . . Consumers want low prices, and frankly, most are not going to pay the higher price for the US made product. How many of you are Walmart shoppers?

These companies have to move their operations overseas because the public is demanding lower prices, and in order for them to still make profit, they have to decrease their costs.

If more people were willing to pay more for US made products, then there wouldn't be the huge run to overseas production. Yeah, I know that Experian doesn't produce, but Call Centers count too. People want the best service, but don't want to pay for it. People want things cheap, but labor in the US is not cheap in comparison with other countries.

Yup, blame it on Capitalism...we invest in stock in publicly traded companies expecting a return on our investment, which puts pressure on these companies to provide a reasonable rate of return...thus, higher prices or lower expenses...it's a merry-go-round. Hmm...maybe Karl Marx was right afterall??!!...(pondering REAL hard here...)

I am the cheapest person on the planet but I do my darndest to buy American. Also there are a LOT of foreign companies who manufacture here, and I do buy from them, I see the main issue being that JOBS are being taken away from Americans (and people living and working here legally).

Funny thing, since more and more jobs are being "out-sourced" overseas there won't be many people left here in America that will be able to afford to buy at Sprawl-Mart, much less buying American.

But I do deplore the idea of our personal information (like SSN's, addresses, etc.) being shipped overseas by companies like Experian and CA's that use call centers in India. It's just asking for trouble! It's hard enough keeping your information from being stolen by crooks here in America, now we have to worry about International crooks having a go at it!

What I think is sick is how when you know darned well you're getting a call from India and the person pretends they are American. I try and trip them up and ask them "What's the current temp in New Delhi", and if they give me an Americanized name, I say "Yeah, and I'm Sanjay..." I'm sorry, there are people out in America who were working in call centers and lost their jobs too.

Just the corporations. The management wants their big fat bonuses for keeping costs down by shipping jobs overseas and hiring undocumented illegal aliens here.

Just kinda' gripes my behind!

Transunion & Equifax already do this as well as major credit card companies. I already refuse to speak to someone who I cannot understand. I will demand a US worker the few times that I call anybody now days.
