You all will never believe this...

Guess what someone gave me as a baby gift???? A FREAKING PUPPY! Now don't get me wrong, I love animals. Love them lots! But who buys someone with a 2 week old a puppy? I barely have time to shower and feed myself let alone potty train and care for a puppy! Why couldn't they have gotten me a pack of diapers???

I can't believe that! You are the last person who needs another mouth to feed and stretch yourself more than you are stretched already. What was that person thinking. You should give it back and just say you are sorry but you are in no position to take care of a puppy right now.

Put an ad in Craigs List for a good home. Its free and you can list by your region. What is wrong with those people telling you that they will let a 2 week old puppy go. You better re evaluate your friends.

Leah - do you have a good shelter nearby - one without a high kill ratio? There are many "no kill" shelters too - ones that keep the dog until it finds a home, no questions asked. I wish I was closer - I would gladly pick the puppy up and take it to a good shelter where it would have an excellent chance of finding a home. We have a great one here. I would never even dream of giving a new mother a puppy to contend with - having a baby to deal with is enough.

I would do the same as sue if I could. I am going to a no kill shelter tomorrow morning. That is where my Abbie is getting fixed. They have a low cost spay/neuter clinic there. I do not know what this person was thinking, like you have time for a puppy right now.

Unfortunatly, the shelters in KY only give them 3 days before they kill them. I tried contacting the Stray Animal Adoption Program and at this time they have no openings for a puppy so they put me on a waiting list. To put it mildly, if I don't find a home for him soon I am screwed

If your husband's friend dont want back the puppy and told you he dont care about the little dog and go to leave the puppy in the streets is because he is a bad friend and he wanted to disturb your life with your husband.
Leah i have great admiration for you and i'm an older lady and i had seen many things in my life
Already.
I feel sorry for this puppy because i love pets
Like you.if i was near you i try to donate this puppy for you in front of the supermarket near my house.
Maybe you have a truth friend that can do it.
Good luck.
God bless you, your baby, your husband, your cats and the little puppy either.

OMG Leah, a 2 week old puppy? That little dog still needs it's mother!!! I don't know what breed of dog this may be, but have you tried an animal rescue group? Sometimes they will take mixed breeds if the one looks dominate(sp???) Hell if I had more money I would drive by you and pick up the little critter myself. I too am a softie. But hubby says any more furry things come in the house and he leaves. Kinda had me thinking lol they don't snore as loud Embarassed Please keep me informed and I will make some phone calls tomorrow. Because the shelter here does take other animals from other states.

Leah - just a side note - if you need little boy clothes, I have quite a few I can send to you - they vary in size from newborn to 3T - just let me know.

Did you find a place for the puppy Leah? I hope so. I don't think there is anything almost funny about this situation. Shame on your husbands friends.

No the puppy is still living with me. He is a holy terror but I am working with him to be a good lil puppy. I hardly have time for myself esp with the baby now but I am making it work somehow!
