Lisa... wondering if you can help me see the light at the end of the tunnel... we signed up with James on 1/1/08... even though it's taken him a while to respond, he's e-mailed several times and I spoke with him once. We're hitting the 5-6 month mark and are getting collection calls, and calls from lawyers now... I forwarded the letters to James, but have heard nothing... This is so scary not knowing if he's doing anything with out accounts or not... if so, why are they still calling? Can you tell me when your settlements began and how you knew they were being handled? I'm so stressed just because I don't know what to think! Please help with some reassurance!

thanks for your response! I was already 60 days late when I signed on. I guess I will just feel better when these accounts close. Until then, I am dodging phone calls and trying to save for settlement. I have also read SO MUCH on this subject too. I feel like I could write my own book. It's still scary and kind of vague. James has been responsive, but he is also extremely busy- so there is lots of time to imagine worst case scenarios. I am sure it will sort out...geez, I hope it does

Not much to tell, We have only been with him 3 weeks, so am saving money. I haven't spoken to James since the retainer check and really not much reason to as it's too soon. We didn't go late until 1 week before signing. I spent 2 months reading and researching all this and it's scary. I even say a BK lawyer, though 5 years on that plan sounds awful and I really don't want to go there. I'm hoping James can settle everything before something like the sue words comes into play but we only have so much money to fix this. He sounded like he had a plan and all would be fine but one never knows. How are things with you?

We had too much debt and I was chicken. I don't want to be sued so decided to send this to a professional. Thanks though!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! | |
I work for Debt Settlement |
I am going to tell you that you do NOT need a debt settlement company! You can do the debt settlement on your own. The key is finding a way to protect your cash and knowing where to go to find information or "How To" do things. Check out credit info center . com. I have looked at the site and they are right on with how to do debt settlements and so forth. Their sample letters do not differ much from what our company uses. You don't need to buy the e-books they offer. If you don't like the site, there are plenty other sites out there that offer the information for free. There is no need to pay for it.
