Oasis	I am trying to do research on how to settle my own debt. Can you please give me your opinion on some things I should know and when is the best time for me to make a move? I am about 90 behind on some debt.
tarrajane	I had an account open in 1996, last activity was 1998, showing I owed $1200.00, it showed sold on my credit report to a another, then showed charged off. I recieved a call today saying I owed 4000.00 and there was a judgement against me. This account is in Colorado, has the statue of limitations expired or can they get a judgement on me?

jb2007	I think they were getting ready to charge it off, not sure they didn't say, it was 6 months past due, if I were you I would just call them and see what they say, if it's to much tell them you can't do it at this time but will keep in contact with them. But if you are 5 - 6 months past due, and it's the end of the year, they may offer you the same, another poster I know got the same 20% off just last week from BoA, so see what they say.
jb2007	Hey, it was BoA - I think for this company anyway, they want to close out their books, the 20% they offered was amazing! I'm so excited that I'll be able to get one more knocked off, I'm also excited that I didn't use a DS company, I just saved quite a bit of funds by not having to pay fee's to a 3rd party to do this for me.
