The civil suit would have to be filed with the local court in the Parrish (county) you live. So, you can call the courthouse and ask them if any suits have been filed against you. They would have the info there. My guess is they are going to tell you they have nothing.

If that is the case, this company is doing just what has already been said in previous posts, trying to scare you into paying. These types of threats are illegal, and you can actually file a suit against them and be awarded $1,000 per violation.

I am in La and also dealing with my cash now. I refuse to answer their phone calls! They email me, however I can't email them back (I was told that they do not accept emails). At this point, it's at a standoff. They recently told me I owe over $800 for a $500 loan (which I paid $560 back). Our laws in La clearly state that a loan cannot be for more then $350 AND there are no rollovers allowed. I am not backing down and I am not paying them anymore.

I have a quick question, does anyone have a complaint form letter that can be sent to the AG's office? I want to file a complaint against them and I figure if we all bombard our AG's offices with pdl complaints, something will be done.

Good luck to all.

we reccommend that everyone does report these companies to their Attorney General . Usually there is a link to file a complaint. There is for my state.

This small collection agency is breaking many fdcpa rules across our country. Call the FTC or Attorney General in New Jersey if your rights have been violated. Do not deal with them !

if people would pay their debt then they wouldnt have to deal with a collection agency.im at fault too i have debt, but i also work for a collection agency, word of advice if you see your in hard times dont use your credit card, just because you dont read the contract doesnt mean it doesnt exist, using the card and not making payments is the same as stealing!

Do you collect debts for legal or illegal companies?
Yes, people are at fault for defaulting. BUT some of these " collection agencies" do business on the hope that the people they are calling are to stupid ( no offense to anyone, I was stupid with bad collectors too once ) to know that they are breaking laws.

And we aren't talking about credit card's here. We're talking about illegal and legal payday loans. Most people who are dealing with "collection agencies" on THIS forum have over paid on a loan that was illegal to begin with.

PRS, Life happens things come up and bills fall short. That is just the way it is, please do not come down on fellow forum members because you work for a CA. Also all CAs are not legit, and use abuseful tactics in collecting debts. So I would not trust anything anyone says unless I get it in writing. Wether you owe the debt or not, everyone does not always play fair.

The common factor I have seen on this forum is most CAs try to collect on a debt that has been way OVERPAID to PDL already. So to me that is ILLEGAL and UNACCEPTABLE.

The payday loans are NOT illegal. They are governed by the laws of the country of Panama. If you accept the money, you owe the debt.

the trolls are extra stupid today.listen biffster, the company is illegal and your illegal CA SRS is also illegal.if they are so legal come from PANAMA and do something.by the way, nobody is saying borrow money and don't pay it back.it's just that illegal companies like this don't allow payoffs, debit for 10x the loans worth, then want to criminally harrass after the consumer defaults.let's say i borrow 300.00 your company debits 700.00
i am done by US law which prevails whether you like it or not.
