This company uses much threat (disguised cleverly) to intimidate people and constantly try to verbally bully and threaten. They want you to believe that if you don't agree to THEIR terms "your world will end!". LOL
I have obtained at least one their callers' address and, if he continues to harass my family with his abusive calls legal action will be taken and a personal visit will ensue.

mr shank, if I may, how is is that you are so wonderful yourself? It would seem to me that if were at this website searching for information on collection agencies that you may be in debt yourself? why would someone as perfect as yourself be on a website like this if you didn't have any debt problems of your own?

I will never buy from Dell computers because of these scum bags. My financial problems were temporary but they didn't hesitate to use these losers (LTD Financial Services) to do their dirty work. I considered file bankruptcy just to spite these people. My mother got calls from them every ten minutes even though I haven't lived there in 20 years. They have two numbers they call from:
800-718-3583 and 877-741-2100.

Here is the contact information for the state attorney general. I suggest everyone file a complaint. As to the collectors who enjoy this kind of work, there's a difference in trying to collect a debt and harassing family members to do so.

These people have been chasing us down for months over a lousy $92 we supposedly owe. My wife got four calls in a row from some creep called "Marvin". The last call he said "This isn't the Bank" in a darker voice. He came off as more silly than threating, but it still upset my wife. What can we do about this nonsense?

He said the amount would have to be a certain amount and was unwilling to work with me to lower it to make it more affordable for me. Hi Jt, as per the rules laid down in the FDCPA, the agency has to provide the complete details of your debt before you start paying them. Once they have validated the debt, you are required to dispute on items which you find incorrect in the statement. If you do not dispute within the 30 days period, they have the right to take legal actions against you if you are unable to pay them.

However, you can also take legal actions against them if they are unable to prove the debt and still contact you.

Please do update us on this matter.

I spoke with LTD again today and they were very threatening. The lady said that she wanted a post dated check today or they would persue legal actions against us. Account is only like 7 days into collections and the person I spoke with on Saturday said that I had until the 30th of this month to make a payment. Every person I talk to at LTD gives me a different story about how much is due and when it is due. Can they make me set up a payment today and threaten to persue legal action if i don't, If i have 30 days? i only received the letter from them on the 12th. do they have to take payments that i can afford or can they demand a certain dollar amount for payments?>

1) You wouldn't recieve calls in the first place if you would all just pay your blls on time. I missed one of m own, they called me and were very professional.

2) As far as calling you at home and work asking you to pay a bill that you owe, you signed that information when you recieved the card. If you didn't want the problem you should have paid the bill in the first place.

3) If you have alredy paid a bill DON'T PAY IT AGAIN!!! Supply info to the collector calling you and resolve the matter. anyone who says they have paid a bill has the common sense to have proof of payment, unless you're just lying saying that you paid it.

Just grow up and take responsibility for your actions. if your account goes delinquent pay it or put up with the calls. it's people who don't pay, and have no reason for not paying that make it hard for people with genuine problems!

LTD has been leaving veiled messages at my parent's home (haven't lived there for 15 years). I don't owe anyone anything, so I don't know what LTD's problem is.
