Take quotes from different debt consolidation companies. Compare the interest rates they will be able to negotiate with your credit card companies. If your accounts have already defaulted, most late fees can also be waived off in the program. Once you figure out the lowest repayment plan offered by the consolidation company, research them with your local AG office and the BBB. You must make sure of signing up with a reputed company.

Once you fill up the application form in this website, a counselor is referred from your area to discuss on your debt issues.

Another option may be to cut back on expenses more, or take a second part time job. Then you can pay a larger chunk of what you owe each month, and you won't have to worry about being behind . . . . But in some cases that just isn't an option . . . .

I use this company and have had NO problems with them and they pay my creditors on the same day each month.

It depends on your situation entirely and where you want to be financially. The bad things is.. most people who work for these companies work on commission. They dont take the time to actually understand your situation and what you need. They would rather put money in the pocket. If you would like. We can have a private chat and I can point you in the right direction. Do Not enroll into a program until you get advice from a non partial party.
