K let me find it, might take a few mins as this was a while ago! But i thought i was a math whiz too until this problem stumped me for almost 12 hours! Then it hit me how to figure it out!
Won't share the secret yet until i see if u can figure it out!

I tried and tried to figure this problem out for hours then gave up, about 4 or 5 hours later it hit me, Sheessshhhh u have to use the quad formula and then i had to find it cuz of course i don't remember it! Shocked

I'm scanning my solution now. As I wait for the scanner... For some odd reason, even though I never use it in real life, I have that equation memorized. A few weeks ago I had a math teach apply for a loan and I approved it, but before I could give it to her I told her she needed to tell me what the quadratic equation was. She didn't know it! But I still gave her the loan.

Ouch, i did a very simple math error at the very top... 4*2*-10 = -80 not -81. --- 1 - - 80 equals 81, which the square root of equals 9. -1 +9 divided by 4 does equal 2. The other answer is -2.
