Capitol Recovery Associates have somehow gotten my work number. They called me three times at work yesterday and even though I asked them not to they did anyway. I now have a voice mail giving me one hour to call them or they will fax a request to my employer requesting confirmation of employment. I have contacted my employer this morning asking them to not release any information until I found out what was going on. Each time yesterday I asked for a full name and the name of the company. It was not until I left work that they left the threatening msg on my voice mail stating they have a docket number and have contacted the DA - for what I don't know. I asked them to mail the information to my post office box - they won't. I asked them to call me on my cell phone - to my knowledge they did not write the number down. They called a friend and gave an outrageous story to her. Fortunately she recorded the full conversation. If you haven't already, contact the Federal Trade Commission in Washington DC. Go to the web and there is a complait form you can complete.Oh, I was "not to hang up on them" - how dare I! We will call you at work and there is not a darn thing you can do about it - so there! The law prohibts their calling you at work particularly 3 times in one day.Disgusted

Hello, are they in new york or pennsylvania and if in pa, i not only delt with them but worked for them. You have rights and unless they have intention to sue you for the debt incurred they are not allowd to threaten consumers with such intent. Check out the F.D.C.P.A and also you are allowd to send a letter advising them to cease and desist all collections. Once they receive that they are only allowd to then contact you 1 more time to let you know the letter was received and also try to collect one more time. Also once a company sends this to a 3rd party agency such as a collection agency they have only done so because they don't have the time to collect such small balances. Most agencies will only pursue legally if balance owed is 600. and up so don't sweat it. Just educate yourself with your rights and either have them cease and desist or dispute the balance over 190. but if you do owe the 190. then pay that direct to Payday Max.
