Hello everyone, Hope I can get some opinions on this.

I received a very nasty call from a Victor Lynch at Rollo Investigations who is supposedly working for Ten Dollar Pay Day Loan/MTE. I took out a loan with them two years ago under quickest cash advance and payed them off in full last year through Town and Country. Stupid me, I never thought to get a letter from T&C saying that this was paid off and after three months, they get rid of account information once the account is closed.

Here is the crazy part. I spoke to someone at MTE and told them that these people at Rollo are harassing me over a debt I paid and MTE said they don't even have a record of my account with them. So I called Victor Lynch back to tell him this but he swore up and down that this debt is valid and that they want the entire fee of $390 by Friday or they will prosecute me for passing bad checks.

So my question is since I don't have any physical documents to fax to Rollo stating that I paid them, what can I do to keep these people from harassing me at work?

I was given a number for a Mr. Berry at MTE to follow up and I'm praying that he will be reasonable enough to send me a letter stating that they have no account information on me. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. It just upsets me that after doing the right thing of paying them off, I am STILL being penalized for a moment of financial weakness.

well MTE is not the most trustworthy pdl.in fact the are totally illegal, and probably sold the debt even paid off to these people.do you have a ph# that they call from?that would help us come up with an address to send this bottomfeeder letters.

i searched the number 1-877-856-8587.no address.sounds like a complete bottomfeeder.if this person from rollo calls again hang up as they can do nothong.as for possible work calls.let your know that some scam might call.tell him it is a phishing scam.i would file AG and FTC complaints against rollo investigations.you can do it online.

It's difficult to put a stop payment considering a) they use different aliases b) they withdraw varying amounts. They aren't authorized to do business in several states. They constantly state they sent a contract which is a flat out lie. Worst company ever. When will the feds do their actual job and put a stop to this?!?

Agreed with you, Angie!!! It's really high time that the feds take some solid actions against such organizations.

Do not give your information to these scammers. Instead, take their phone numbers and call your state attorney general's office.
