Can anyone tell me if these people are doing something illegal. I took out a loan for 200.00 and am over a thousand negative just from these people. They harrass me at work everyday at least 2 or more times. Wont email, or mail me anything even though I asked for it.
Help!
What can i do?

Hi Jess

Call Route 66 funding at 877-564-7738. If they have debited from your account so many times, they must have already received the loan amount as well as the permissible charges. Now, you can use some precautionary measure and ask your bank to stop the debits of Route 66 Funding. They need to block the company code so that money cannot be withdrawn from your account further. Later, Route 66 Funding will contact you. Get the loan statement for reviewing. If you can prove paying excessive charges towards the loan account, you must claim for a refund.

Gretchin is right. You have to deal with this company taking the help of your bank. Explain the situation to the supervisor and block Route 66 from making further debits. If closing an account is an option, you can try out that one also. Route 66 Funding has done illegal activities on many others. This thread will give a better overview about the company.

Paul, you need to check up with the processing dept. of Route 66 Funding. This website is not affiliated with them.

I have a question for anyone who can answer it. My wife received a loan of $200 from Route66 and had no problems with the first 2 extensions. Today (Nov.9th) they have submitted for the third extension. They do not have authorization to submit this payment until the 10th. Is this a breach of "verbal" contract on their part? My wife also received an email today wanting to verify that they can withdraw another extension in 1 week on the 17th. Her paydays are every 2 weeks and Route66 is aware of this. Another breach of "verbal" contract on their part?

Is this the start of all the problems I've been reading about?

I wish we would have seen this posting site before getting involved with this company.

Thanks for any responses.

Route 66 also will withdraw money using different business names, so don't get a false sense of security by just having your bank block route 66.

And no matter how much you bother them, and how much the facts and laws are on your side, they haven't seemed to budge for anyone yet (Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall seeing anyone that's had thier account maked paid in full or received a refund). They claim to follow british law, but british law is not very different from US laws. They are LOAN SHARKS!!!! They could care less about the havoc they wreak in people's lives when they take your money before they're supposed to.

Tarman, they did the same with me. It looks like they think that I have 2 loans with them when I don't. They debited today and say they are going to as well next week(not payday). My account has been closed since early this week, and somehow the 80.00 went thru. I have some emails/letter to write tonight.

Yeah, at some banks even after you close your account if a ACH payment is put through within 10 or so days it forces the account back open. Ridiculous that the banks allow that, but they do. The only way around this if this is your banks policy is to sit down with the branch manager, explain your situation, and as that a hard hold, or freeze, be put on your account. No one will be able to do anything with your account after that, not even you.

That really stinks! My old account is -80.00. When I closed the account she gave me the money that was in there. Online I see closed account posting. Why did they take the money out earlier than the contract states? I guess I'll be on the phone tomorrow....

Yeah, and if you don't pay that $80 you are under for your account, your bank can put you on chexsystems and it will be extremely hard for you to open a new checking or savings account for 5 years . . . . .

I know! I'll pay it though if need be. I already opened a new account at a different bank. We were doing that anyway. Funny thing is, I just went to check it again, and it won't let me on, says account closed it didn't say that earlier.

I have heard so many bad things about route 66 I used them in the past and have never had a problem with them or them taking to much money out of my account. What did I do different than all these people to be so lucky?
