Default GEMB, Care Credit

I've been fighting them for over a year about "overdue payments".

I took their service for a doctor bill when I knew I'd get the insurance payment within the six months that they offered a 0% interest. I agreed to it because they said it would be $45 a month for the first 6 months and no interest as long as I made regular payments. No problem, except that the first bill I got was for $53 and when I called them about it they said I had missed a payment so I lost the interest-free promotional deal.
I was confused and told them this was the first bill, so how could I have missed one, and they said they'd look into it. The next bill was $65 with added fees and interest.

The people I was talking to were from a telephone call center, not actually employees of the GE company, so they couldn't really say or do anything that wasn't on their scripts. They started calling me three times a day--literally!--and I asked to talk to supervisors, who just said the same things over and over, I missed a payment.
The appointment was in April, the first bill came in May, and I paid the rest of the total of $2000 in July, plus the earlier amounts paid of $53 and $65 because they said I should make a good faith payment to keep things open while they "investigated" the situation.

Now, more than a year later they claim I owe them a little over $500 of late fees, interest and other charges. They call regularly, and I always tell whoever is calling the entire story ending with, I don't owe this money and I'm

It's become a stupid game. Every few calls they offer to put the account into "dispute" so they won't call for 2 weeks then they send me a letter saying I lost the dispute and start calling all over again. I've probably spoken to over three hundred different people who all read the same script to me and try to convince me I'm a bad person for not paying my bill.

In addition to all this, my doctor wants contact info to complain to them because he got charged extra fees as well!!

Any suggestions?

Cindy

Default what should i do after paying off all care credit account

I had a big episode with care credit trying to charge me interest when i was a 12 month no interest plan. We finally resolved it - in may be 10 calls back and forth.
Now i have paid off my entire debt ($1500), should i close the account? I'm wondering how it affects my credit score and all. Would it help to keep the account open with zero balance? I monitor my credit report and all accounts very closely. Advice?

GE/CareCredit has a bad problem with record keeping and communication. I have an account because I broke my wrist in January and used it to pay doctor's bills. I was paying on it until I lost my job in June. They signed me up for a hardship program with reduced interest and reduced payment at the beginning of Oct and I asked for something in writing and never received it. They keep calling and calling and calling and even sent me to Encore Receivable Management which they said was an "in-house collection agency." I kept calling back and telling them I was on the hardship program and wanted something in writing. Actually asked for something in writing about 6 times now because every time I talked to someone I got different information.

I complained to the BBB about them because they have absolutely the worse customer service which is out of the country and the people cannot speak English very well nor can they understand it. My complaint is still unresolved because they still have not provided me anything in writing concerning the hardship program. A representative of the company sent me a letter regarding my BBB complaint which basically said nothing except everything was MY fault and basically was in my head, that they had "World Class Customer Service." She didn't even have the facts of my account straight. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Default Care Credit/ GE

I have been with Care Credit for a year and a half. I used automatic bill pay and have never received a statement. I called to ask for one, and when it arrived it was only for this month, not the past several as promised. I noticed a late fee and called. I was informed that they changed the billing date and sent a letter about it (which I didn't receive) and so I've been paying $39 late fees each month for 5 months unknowingly. They have my cell phone number, but no one bothered to call me. I was not even informed of the 4-day late payments when I called them. When I asked for a supervisor, I quickly got one. He said he could not help and when I asked, he stated there were NO supervisors above him. I'm in process of writing complaint letters.

Default Care Credit/Gemb

I was trying to figure out what Care Credit/Gemb was on my credit report. After digging and digging I finally figured out what it was. My son had to take his dog to the vet for emergency care. I co-signed a finance plan for him. Because he has been making all the payments, I never would have known it was there if I hadn't looked at my credit report.

You have to file a dispute with the major credit bureau's to get it correcte on your credit report. Dispute the charge and make the company prove your debt. Do you need help filling out the dispute form? If so there is an entire sub forum on this subject.

Good luck and send me a private message if you need further help.
