I'm a college student who is $15,000 in debt, and all from credit cards. This happened so fast and I couldn't stop it, what should I do different now? Embarassed I'm so embarassed that I have not even told my parents, because they warmed me and have taught me how valuable money is and how to take care of it. What shall I do?

i understand how you feel. i am in the almost same situation. i am about in the same amount of debt you are in and have not told my parents. Try to get in touch with a consolidation company to consolidate the credit cards, and pay them off slowly, and eventually they will get paid off. Hang in there, we are all here for you.

It is never to late to start, but you have to to realise that it is like a desease, and there people out there who introduced credit as a way to slave other people. So stop being slave and never again look towards money that is not yours. I was young once too, and also in debt, I am 31 now and have only one credit card which has always positive balance. Most importantly start talking to your parents, they will help you choose the right direction. Good Luck

We only learn from our mistakes. There is nothing that doesn't have a solution. You will also find a way out. One important thing to learn is to control the temptations. Don't take new credit unless there is a serious emergency. If you decide to go for it, make a way so that you are able to pay it within the due dates. If there is no real money, why go for credit. Creditors are doing no mercy. You need to pay a price for it and their charges are put very high. Some financial awareness is a must, especially for college students.
