I would love to be able to help my family out! My grandmother is going through some illnesses and debt problems herself. I wasn't always in debt. A few years back my parents move out of state and I decided to stay here and let my little sister live with me to finish highschool. I do have a good job for my age, but I really did take on too much and spent over my means so my little sister could live somewhat of a normal life through the rest of her highschool career. I now live on my own and because of all the debt I have accumulated, I cannot make ends meet. I am a good hearted person who would love the stress taken off of my shoulders so that I can concentrate once again on making my family members happy and comfortable.

Welcome to the forums Akgeary!

What kinds of debts do you have? A counselor will be in touch with you to discuss options you may have, and of course feel free to ask any questions here!

Congratulations on taking the first step!

You will be in control after you see your debts paid through one of the debt management programs. There are easy options according to your situation and the counselor will discuss each of them elaborately. You will have to restrict your expenses in the program because excessive spending won't be good. You will learn a few budgeting tricks from your counselor and this will be always help in your future.

Give your family the first priority. After you enroll in the consolidation program, the counselor will take care of your accounts with the creditors. You just have to balance your time with your family and the consultant.
