jeffsheehan what about the 2 credit cards and school loans? Are you past due on the accounts, jobless??? A little more information would be very helpful. There are alot of great posts on the website, do some research and see if you can find an answer to your question, or post if here.

Student loans can wait for a while if you are worried about your credit card payments. Call the lender and apply for forbearance. Then you can call the credit card company and arrange an easy payment plan. They will likely offer you a lower interest rate in making the payments. In case you need a professional help, talk to a debt counselor and figure out your options. There is nothing impossible in life. Give a try and you will be through.

What credit cards do you have? How much do you owe them and are you behind on any of your payments?
For the student loans, you can always apply for a deferrment which will halt the interest rate being placed on your account. Depending on your loans, did you file for consolidation of your student loans? It would have probably helped the interest rate.
