my debts are not that bad. i just want to improve my credit, so that i can buy an house soon. my total debts isnt more than 10,000

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like consolidation might be your best option. A credit counselor will be calling soon if you gave your phone number when you signed up. You don't have to use their services; whatever company you go with, check them out thoroughly. You can use this site, the BBB, your state consumer protection agency, etc...

You can try the negotiations on your own without hiring any outside help. See the DIY section and the steps you need to take when putting your proposals to the creditors.
