I took out a payday loan with VC Funding, and they are harassing me about paying it off. They have added fees to my account which is double the amount of the loan! How can I get this taken care of?

wow you can get a hold of vc funding?? Funny all the contact info they gave me is now non working. And when I supposedly defaulted on them, they just sent my account straight to Bass and Associates...You need to send them a letter reciting your state laws and telling them to mark your account paid in full...this is a long hard battle

I just read your comment about VC Funding and I too made the mistake of taking a loan out with these people and its never ending harassment, and threatning phone calls about throwing me in jail. Mind you I only barrowed 200, and they took from my account and at lease made $800 off of that, but yet my checking account became so overwelmed, and yet they kept trying to pull it out after i told them not too, they kept doing it, with an addition 35 dollars with each time they pulled, that I now owe the bank.......It has crushed me with my bank. Then they have someone who claims to be a lawyer and scared me into barrowing money off a friend and wiring it to him ASAP,or I was gonna get arrested and he accused me of willfully having funds wired across state lines with no intent to pay, that is WRONG!! I meant to pay back what I owed and plus some, but my god, its hard to get out of a payday loan, coming ahead. and they make you feel like your such a crook, Im not the Loan Shark here, Im sick of the harassment and threats, You would think the goverenment would stop this stuff. Im ready to lose my mind over getting this lawyer paid off, but he wants it his way,and thats not fair to me.I wired the money and still owe only a couple of houndred, but he calls me & leaves nasty&threating voicemails. I guess the poor people will always be poor and cant get any help!! They dont help you out,So dont do payday loans, anyone!!!!

They cannot threaten you with jail time over a PDL! They use that as a scare tactic to get money from you!

spitfire - If your bank reported you to chexsystems over that, there are still banks that will allow you to open an account. Check out this thread here and there's a list of banks for each state that either don't use chexsystems, or do, but will still open an account in certain situations.

They will threaten you with it, but you can't be arrested. There's no debtors prision, and they would have quite a hard time convincing a judge that you attempted to defraud them by borrowing $200 and paying back $800. What, you attempted to defraud yourself out of $600?????

Technically it's illegal to threaten these things. But they all do it. It's hard to prove your word against theirs. Just know that they are all lies. Nothing even remotely close to what they are saying will happen to you.

When he calls again I would try to get an address for them. There may be one posted on this site, so also do a search for them in the box at the top right hand of the page. Send them a cease and desist letter stating that you will only communicate with them through mail.

Also, what state are you in? Some states have laws that are very restrictive for creditors . . . .

I find this so wierd..>VC funding has never contacted me about my loan...Although I suspcet they are the ones who sent me to Bassholes....but of course they won't give me any original creditor information...I had a lot more trouble with the other ones! Hang in there...you have paid this loan in full and then some!

You should file a complaint against VC Funding with your AG's office and Dept. of Financial Institutions (name of govt. dept. that regulates these companies, your state may have another name for it) I did this with VC Funding and they left me alone, they answered the complaint with the AG's office, and never contacted me again.

i had taken out a loan with vc funding or cash now, cash advance, but anyway. now they have turned me over to payne and associates or that is what they called themselves anyway, but when you call them back they don't even answer the phone that way they just say how can i help you? i find that strange and then when they told me to send them some $ the name to write on the slip at the bank was something different. when i tried to look their # on the toll free number lookup nothing was found. they have threatened me with jail time and sending people to my work. i can't even find a # for the payday loan place now to be able to talk to them. this man tim payne keeps threatening me with serious reprocussions for taking $ acrsoo state lines. what should i do?
