Debt up to my eyeballs!

I was originally doing pretty good. I had a good job, good credit, and was doing ok for both myself and my son. Then I got lonely and everything has since then come crashing down. I moved out of state with who I thought was "the one". That was my first mistake. I bought a house, and took on a school loan which are now being paid by my father. Not because he wants too but because I can't. We are both kicking ourselves for being so stupid to have the wool completely pulled over our eyes, so to speak. Throughout my nightmare of a relationship I have two credit cards charged up. Only one is in ok standing. I owe Whachovia bank money. Plus, I am behind on my car payments. My loan for my Kirby vaccum that I got only because it is the best I have ever had, is now in the hands of a collection agency because I lost my job when I was still with my now ex. Which I lost because of him, but that is another story. Plus, I owe over $6,000 to Chrysler Financial for a truck that I stupidly put in my name for my ex who defaulted on the payments. Which I have just learned that another collection agency took over my debt in February and is now filing a lawsuit against me. I was never informed about any of it by the collection agency. Which is called Palisades Collection. So yes, I am in debt up to my eyeballs. I have two more children. And have gotten none of my goals accomplished due to my relationship with my ex. I guess you could say I have really learned my lesson. Embarassed

I appreciate the positive feed back. I do at least know who I owe money to. My next step is to find out the amounts and go from there. But before I can take that next step I have to start earning an income once again. I recently moved back to Texas, and was pregnant at the time. I had my daughter and was trying to find a job. Then my alternator went out on my car which put a stop to my job search. So now I am trying to earn an income from home. So until that obsticle is overcome I can't even begin to start repayment on my debt. I am at least trying to gather all of my debt together. Since I recently found out that Palisades Collection took over my debt to Chrysler Financial, which I only have because my now ex could not keep up with the payments and it was repossessed. Embarassed I wrote a letter to Palisades Collection telling them that I had not been informed that they had taken over my debt in Feburary of this year. Nor had I been informed that they were attempting to file a law suit against me. I explained all of this in my letter to them, and requested all the information they had on this debt, as well as requesting them to work with me to get this debt paid off. So I will find out whether or not they are willing to do that. Right now getting that lawsuit dropped is #1 on my list.

Hi Arwen! Welcome to the forum. Smile Palisades, huh?I'm not trying to scare you but I've heard some not so nice things about their tactics. Do a search in this forum on them and find out everything you can about them so that you can be sure that they are not trying anything illegal with you. I know that everything will work out just fine for you because you have taken that first important step which is facing up to your debt problems. I know it seems tough right now but things will look up for you soon. Good luck and hang in their. Smile
