I'm deeply in credit card debt and am considering going with a debt consolidation company to help me out. I'm wondering if anyone has gone this way and if there is a company that you would recommend that worked well for you and did what it promised. I appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

A good debt consolidation company should have any of the following accreditation - BBB, TASC, IAPDA or USOBA. For more details on good debt consolidation companies, you may visit the link best debt consolidation company.

Yep....do your research and make sure it's something, you need, for your 'situation.' Alot of 'horror' stories, on this Forum, about people who have used Debt Consolidation. I'm not saying they are ALL bad,..just telling ya to be careful.

......( forgot to ask)...if you DO go with a Debt Consolidation/Settlement Company, doesn't this go 'AQAINST' your Credit, somehow? I know it may help in the long run, but,..doesn't it lower your Credit score if you go on one of these programs?

In my experience Debt Consolidation depends on what type you use. A Debt Management plan or a Debt Settlement Company. Be careful of those consolidation companies that claim to settle your debts in 1-2yrs, blah, blah, blah. They can be sneaky. It is very hard to choose a good debt consolidation company. Make sure to do your research when considering any company.

IMO, I thought a Debt Settlement Company can affect your credit score being that they settle your debts rather than consolidate them into one Lump sum payment like a Debt Management Plan. I am no expert maybe Mobile or Nascar_D will be along to offer more advice.
