After being on this site for a matter of months and getting to know all of you, I feel like I am at a turning point in my struggle with debt and the PDL monster. When I get to the point where I feel like things are getting better, then bam, there I go slipping down into the hole again!
I do work full time and make a pretty good income, but I am the only person currently working in my home right now. My husband is having medical issues and just can't and we are supporting my teen-ager, who also works.
Along with rent, food and power, there's little if nothing left at the end of the month. I am in a program to payoff my 5 remaining PDL's but recently have had problems making the payments. I also have back taxes I am paying off. Thankfully, since I work in a hospital, I do not have to worry about paying for medical insurance, as that's free for me, so that is a blessing.
I am 46 years old and feel like I have nothing to show for it. I have no home and can barely make ends meet! Most of this is my own fault through the poor choices I have made.
Is there a way to make it better? I really don't know. I am going to contact Dennis Williams to see if he can lower the payment I am currently making so that would help somewhat. I have also filed with Cal AG's office re Sonic and Cash Today 4U, who I know for a fact that I have overpaid, so I will keep you posted.
My point is: is there light at the end of the tunnel? And how do I get there?
Thanks,everyone...and sorry to whine!

Whine away Kscornell, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I know exactly what you are going through, I am a single mother with two disabled children, and I'm the only income...no child support. It looks like Dennis is doing something legit and something that will help alot of our members. I know what you mean, I make good money as well with nothing to show for it at the end of the month. It does get better.

Kathy...That's what we're here for, for you to vent on us!!
There most definitely is a light at the end of the payday loan tunnel, I swear. You will see it soon. remember, there are always going to be temporary setbacks. I remember going through this same struggle last winter. I thought I'd never come out of it, but here I am, better than ever.
You're doing great, and you will win this one..I promise you.

Yup, Michelle is right!
When I was having problems earlier this year, it seemed there was a never ending stream of disappointments and I was discouraged.
But as my really good friend, Michelle said, "It gets' better, and when it does, it gets better fast!"...I'm forever grateful to her for her support, among other people on here..especially Polly and Jess.
Hang in there hon, it's only temporary and as hard as your working toward your goal, things will turn around for you!
As always, we're here...

Kathy--You're going to get through this, I promise! It can get a little bumpy on the way, but that's when you come on here and vent to us, right? *hugs*

oh Liz...I think we need to have those words engraved on my tombstone when I die!! I think when I told you that, that was the night we became friends!!
I spoke from experience, I was there too. And I wouldn't be as strong as I am without Liz and Polly and Jessi.

And I agree, alone we are strong, but together we are Invincible!!!

You guys...My Chris and I were talking last night about my time here, and he said he thought I spent a little TOO much time here. I told him that I probably do, but it's the only way I can surround myself with people that actually UNDERSTAND...I have friends outside of here, but few of them know what it's like to dread waking up in the morning for being broke and not knowing what to do about it.
I love you guys!

I am so lucky to have you guys. we all spend too much time here, but what a blast!! I love the silly text messages we all send daily, too. I've made lifelong friends here..If you had told me this a year ago I would have laughed at you.

You guys are so awesome! I was feeling pretty bad earlier today (ask Steelers1 and Mishele, I was pretty mopey in my e-mails). I want you all to know how grateful I am for the encouragement you gave me.
KSCornell, I'm kind of where you're at right now. I was all psyched up and ready to take on all the PDLs. Then I had a minor setback, and I was devastated. Like Jessie said, it can get a little bumpy on the way, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am sole supporter of three teenage boys with no child support, so I know how hard it is to be the only income coming in and how scary that can be.
KSCornell, you deserve a pat on the back, as many others on this site do, for hanging in there and doing what needs to be done. When things seem too tough to bear, I think to the future. In a couple years, you'll be better off than you are now. Always look to the future because that's where that light at the end of the tunnel is.
Just remember, you're not alone. We have all these wonderful people to turn to.
