I was invited to this site by 2nband, who frequents another forum I hang out at.

Like everyone else, I have my own share of debt. Most of mine stems from bad choices as a young adult, and an irresponsible ex-husband who caused me to sink further into the land of debtdom, lol.

A lot of things I've paid off or down. A few things I've disputed. Either way, that divorce was final in 1999, so most of my debt is either past, or nearing the 7 year mark and although I still have a credit score in the low 600's, I'm getting there.

Hope to learn some tips here, and offer any advice that I can.

I'm sure I'll have tons of questions, but the first one that comes to mind is, which forum or thread, is the best place to start? Better yet, is there a starting point for reading and getting familiar with all the lingo?

Will do. Been surfing some already and the information is very helpful.

I think I'll pass on the consolidation right now. I don't think it's come to that point for me. (which is a good thing!)

But it's nice to know that the offer is there should I need it!

Welcome to the forum. I can attest that this place is a great place to be at. I get so stressed about credit and bills, and when I come here I feel calmed down and soothed. Everyone here is very understanding and has a bunch of knowledge and advice... and sometimes just an ear to listen which works too!
