Okay here's my story...

my parents purchased a house. We were living in apartments that were substandard. I lived below and they lived above, but moving into the house took every dime we had.
I was working a good job until I threw out my back and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, I couldn't work for 2 months because of physical therapy. In those two months I became in debt. 6 months prior I had taken a loan to buy a vehicle for my parents.
I had my debts taken care of for a while.
My sister, and nieces and nephew as well as granny had to leave the state of Tennessee and I had to max out my credit cards and take out another loan.
I moved next door to my parents in my own house and got a better job than I had but I am only making 10hr.
Now I have debt and I am trying to get a debt consolidation loan to take care of it all.

I am assuming I have amassed nearly 4G in debt since I lost my good job took up a parttime job and finally got a good job. I am working on budgeting myself to pay them all down but it is becoming difficult with six kids, and a family to take care of.

I am a full time student and a full time employee...

It has been difficult...

any help that can be offered/ advise would be welcome.

I also accumulated a lot of debt in my early 20's due to my mom's health condition, and her needing alot of medicines. I also helped them get out of debt with a credit card that I had at the time. All and all, it put me back about 10K, and unforunately, it got worse and worse (on my own) as time passed. I ended up needing to declare bankruptcy in 2004 because it was so awful.

Luckily, you are recognizing your debts at a time when there not that bad, and you can fix them. Like the previous poster said, I think the debt consolidation companies aren't really going to benefit you because your debt is not that awful, or high.

I would call the companies that you have accumulated debt with and make an arrangemnt. I have learned form this forum that many are able to make out arrangements and the companies are sometimes reasonable to help out if you explain the situations.

Good luck to you!
