I have been mis treated by one of NES debt collectors.
They threatened lawsuit, took my checking acct information and gave me 5 days to pay the hardship amt. I was turned down for a loan and the debt collector was rude, refused to listen to what I had to say about they could not sue me and that I was reporting them to the attorney general of New York State. He yelled at me to get off his phone line then hung up.

I am complaining to whomever will listen, I am a military disabled veteran and will not be treated this way.

I concur. These people are rude, and they dont follow the law. Ive asked them not to call at work and they have still called, as early as two days later. There has got to be a way to punish these people.

I've had a not-horrible experience with NES - I've worked with the same guy every time, he's never been rude, and he's accepting payments.

This thread has succeeded in scaring the crap out of me, though.

These people are unreal. I have only come across one guy who was decent when he spoke with us and made payment arrangements, but of course he left no notes in the system to what he agreed to.

The guy who called today was really nasty and told us he was sending us a summons and we would have to pay them 5000 in restitution. I have kept a very detailed log of my conversations with them. Figured it cant hurt. Also kept copies of all correspondance and money orders sent to them. Im just tired of dealing with them. Wish I had the money to just pay them off.

They have been calling me for the last 6 months talking about filing a judgement against me. I think that is one of their Biggest scare tactics against the debtor. It is a serious matter though, I mean they would really like their money. If I don't have it what can I do. There are people that own the National Enterprise System over $100,000. I am just wondering will they take time out to sue someone with just a few thousands dollars in debt. I don't think so. Beware this company has people with really good verbal skills that know how to get their money.

Oh my, these people are all over the net, they call like 6 to 7 times a day (no joke) and then when I try to call them back they hang up on my face. I just dont pickup the phone from "unknown callers" anymore and ive written a program that mutes the ringer on my phone whenever its them. Ive also reported them to the Attorney general and FTC, if enough people do this maybe something will get done. Also dont believe a word these people say, they have been saying I would get a summons for months now (even though I dont have a clue what for) its all a scare tactic.

If you feel like they have done something illegal, report them with this form.

Here's my long story short. Had a Sears CC, payments lapsed earlier this year (about 4 months). Made a payment to Sears online & then started getting calls from a Ms. Anniston (relation to Jennifer? ) from Central Credit Services. I called Sears & they told me the debt had been sold to Resurgent. I called Resurgent & got the particulars from them, told me if I were to make payments - they were to go to Central Credit Services. Did the DV letter, got the validation from Central Credit. Okay, made a $200 payment via cashier's check to Central Credit. Also sent them a cease and desist letter along with the payment. Then, interestingly enough roughly around the same time Central Credit Services got the cease and desist letter, "Mr. Parrish from NES starts calling me, left me a message claiming he's from their legal department and my claim is going through it's final review - hmmmmm it's the first time I heard from them, but yet my claim is going through it's final review? Right. My guess is once Central Credit got the c&d letter, they just transferred the account to another one of their companies so they could harrass me all over again. Remember when I said I sent a payment online to Sears? Well, I spoke with a woman in the internal recovery dept at Sears & she tole me I could still make payments online through them - the payments would then be forwarded to the collection agency. That's the route I'll go, since at least then I'll have a record of payments.

As far as I know its either Verizon or Sears. They are Junk debt collectors, dont pickup "Unknown Calls" and report their number to the FTC.

Guest - Frank is right - this company is a junk debt buyer. They will harrass you by phone SEVERAL times a day. My sister has been dealing with them regarding an old credit card debt that was charged off by the original creditor and then sold to them for pennies on the dollar. Enterprise added their "legal fees" to it, to the tune of an additional $250, and threatened to take her to court over it. I told her (thanks to the advice found at this site) to play hardball with them and tell them to go ahead and take her to court. She's in an extremely low income situation - she makes very little and her husband is disabled and can't work - so if they DID take her to court, chances are very good that the judge would end up making a payment arrangement for her with Enterprise. But to be honest, in all the posts on this site regarding Enterprise, I have YET to see anyone say that this company actually took them to court. That's not to say it wouldn't ever happen, but somehow I doubt it - this company seems to be all about the scare factor - trying to stress debtors out by making threats they don't intend to carry out.

They refused to make any sort of payment arrangement with my sister, demanded payment in full or they would take her to court. She told them she couldn't pay it in full, that she would have to just see them in court. They continue to call her home up to 10 times a day - almost every hour - but she doesn't pick up the calls because they won't work with her. They started threatening her over 3 months ago with taking her to court - however, to this date, no paperwork for a court date has materialized.

yeah these guys sent me a letter saying I owe 4000 and I needed to pay. I attempted to make 500 dollars in payments later that month as a sign of goodwill that i was trying to work it out with them. a month or so later i see the money has never been taken out of my account like it was supposed to. i call and they say that's because i have to set up stuff with them, etc. etc. i give him 320 of the original 500 (because it got spent unknowingly) later that week. since then i have given (in total) close to 1000. they say if i can't beg/borrow/steal the rest of the money they will take me to court and garnish my wages or what have you. because of these guys i've had sleepless nights and wanted to throw my car off a bridge. it's ruining my life but there is no way i can come up with 3000+ dollars in that little time. i'm a student and i only work part time during the semester. what do i do? i haven't paid my bill in a long time and it took me awhile to get in contact with NES but i've got a good job now and i am making a lot more money. i'm trying to settle my problems with them, but they are not making it easy. i can borrow another 1000 if need be, but i don't want to rob peter to pay paul. so is 1000 enough to show good faith that i want to take care of this? or 2000? how much do i need to give them to have them give me more time?

thanks

Like many others I am also on the NES hit list. Thankfully, they only have my home and cell numbers, which they call endlessly. Usually we don't answer but on the occasions we have they are beyond rude and don't care what information they give to anyone. My gf hates these jerks. She dishes it back to them and tells them that she is recording the calls. They always hang up when they hear that. I appreciate the info on the C&D letter. I'm going to give it a try.
