My husband has an individual credit card he opened before we met, the account has gone into collection and the collections company recently put a lien on his business bank account.

Can they come after MY individual bank accounts or MY wages also even though I am in no way attached to this account?

Can a debt consolidation company help him get this lien off? If not who can help him?

When he tries to call the collection agency to come up with a payment plan the guy there is very rude and demands a payment of 3000 on this now 5800.00 debt which is mainly interest and court fees. My husband does not have that money and offered 800.00 instead to get a payment plan going and it seems they refuse. Should my husband try to pay the collections agency or should he seek counseling from debt consolidation company

Is your husband incorporated, S-corp, LLC, partnership or sole proprietor? It should make a difference in regards to the lien. I don't believe they can put a lien on a corporation for a personal debt. You really should contact an attorney. This is a lot of money and can affect his livelihood. I believe NJ has a community property law that makes your assets vulnerable also.
