Westbury Ventures, withdrew money out of my account without my permission, with a loan I took out in June, I called the company and they were rude and insulting, with the interest I have paid them and the amount they took out, it all adds up to almost three hundred dollars for a one hundred dollar loan, my question is, does anyone know the pdl laws in the state of New Jersey, please let me know, thanks.

Talk to your bank about the debits done by Westbury Ventures. Tell them that you have never authorized the company to withdraw the amount they have taken from you. Fill up the dispute form and they will verify the charges with Westbury. If the item is not verified, your bank will put the money back in your account.

You might want to consider closing that account and opening another one right away?

ana, since pay day lending is illegal in your state, you need to go to the bank immediately and inform them of unauthorized debits by an illegal company. See what they can work out with you. You may be able to get those charges reversed back off. And, since Westbury has your account information, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do something about that account. As I have read, pdl's do come back and continue to debit at their own free will. Even if the account is paid in full. Do not trust them. Go to your bank and see what kind of help they offer you. Come back and post and let us know what's going on.

Before you close your account read this thread: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html .

To be safe I would go to a totally different bank. That way no debits from the PDL's are put through if you would open a new account with your old bank.

Ladybug - I fixed this link too. I think what you are doing is leaving out the - between close and account. Goudah
