marshd,
check this site to see if your pdl's are licensed and get the information on your state's laws.

Payday loans are illegal in North Carolina. The companies you are dealing with are not licensed to lend in your state. Report them to your state attorney general and the BBB. You are just liable to pay their principal amount.

They can still try and send them to your employer, but just make sure you send the wage revocation letter to the lender and your employer!!

Brownsugar is right, you need to give a copy of the wage revokation letter to your employer, they have been know to go ahead and attempt the wage assignment despite the person revoking that right to them. Besides, pdls are illegal in your state, you need to get your complaints in to your state' Attorney General's Office.

Once the wage assignment goes to your employer, confirm they got it and get the name and extension number of the person who told this to you in payroll. Also, based on what you have reported here, it looks like you've already paid back two of your 5 PDL's. Demand that these accounts be closed and marked paid in full or file a claim with your state attorney general's office.

I can't say for sure, but most more than likely, these ipdls are probably not even licensed in your state.

Brownsugar is right--chances are they probably aren't licensed, but it's good to confirm this. What I have done is gone to my state government website and done a check there. In California, it's the Dept of Corporations, but see if there's something similar in your state. Good luck.

Has marshd closed the checking account yet? They will debit you until you're dead in the ground if you don't close the account. You've paid these people. I have received a refund from Web Pay Day. They'll probably be pretty cool when you contact them. However, if your account is still open, they're going to keep on debiting you until your DEAD! You need to do that, then get your letters out to the pdl's and file complaints with the agencies. First, regain control of your money. I swear, they will keep on taking the "finance charges" out.
