Wow, this is great news. I've been battling one of their affiliates myself. Chizhy, is there anyone that you can e-mail me that letter?

Yes, I can email it to you but you will have to send me your email address. The letter won't attach through the email on this site. I guess it's too big.

Taki2U, I don't live in Oklahoma, I live in Texas. This letter is telling Rio Resources that they can not do loans, No Loans to anyone. Rio is in Oklahoma. It is illegal for them to loan to ANYONE per Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit. We are all covered on this one.

That is awesome!

That's one down....I'm sure they will continue to try to loan--But if they DO, they're in BIG trouble.

Taki2u, if you live in Maryland, pdls are already prohibited. You also need to file a complaint with the MD AG's office to let them know that these ipdls are conducting business with consumers of your state.

I live in Minnesota and have a pay day loan that is in default with them does this mean I don't have to pay it back? I'm thinking it does because when I've tried to contact them it comes back as undeliverable! yeah!!! one down 4 to go!

per the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit, they are to cease and desist giving loans, and any loans that they have given are null and void.

There is usually a form you will complete. In it you will describe the issue. You will need to find your state's pdl laws and describe your issue with the company and how they are violating the state's pdl law (not licensed, permitting roll overs when maybe the law prohibits them), let them know how much the original loan was for and how much you have paid to date and if you have already paid the principal and legal interest rate in roll over fees, state in your complaint you want the loan to be marked paid in full. Also describe any correspondance you have had with the company, if they were making threats, if you have e-mails from them with threats, send copies of those with the complaint.
