I got an offer to settle with a payday loan company today for a refund. The offer was $300 but, I held out for $400 since I have overpaid them over $500.00. I requested everything be in writing and payment by money order or Western Union Transfer. I got an email offering $400 but, paid by check. I have been through 19 overdrafts with various pdls and I am closing my account and don't want to deal with a check. Any suggestions?

Take the check. You can always cash it somewhere. You are fortunate to be getting a refund.

I was thinking of how to do it because I don't want to have an account hijacked by these people or others. I think I've figured it out.
Yes, I am fortunate to be getting a refund. I owe this all to the great people here. I was fortunate to have found this site. I read the posts and I learned a great deal on how to deal with these people. Most of all, I learned that it aint easy but, if you want a good result, you have to stick with it.
