Sickofthis, I opted for a pdl with every intention of abiding by the rules. Unfortunately, the pdl lender had other ideas. After weeks of attempting to pay-off the loan, faxing my request as instructed 3 full business days before it was due only to have the faxed request for pay-off ignored, I got fed up & finally went in search of help and found this site. I tried to call the pdl lender...I tried to fax the pdl lender...no responses ever! You think that is a legit way to do business? I would much rather pay my bank $35 for a short in my bank account....at least its once & done.

guest....I agree with you. I had tried many times to pay off the loan but of course I got the same old story that they see to tell EVERYONE which is they did not receive the fax or email or what ever else you send them. That is how they get you. They simply lie about getting information from you even if you have a confirmation that they received it. It is a poor way to do business and that is why they are in trouble. They bring it on themselves.

And I was thinking that the lost of employment, illness in the family,or even worse death was causing people to lose their homes. Ms.or Mr. Manager, I am assuming that you work in a storefront where it is legal to lend to people. 99.9% of these companies are lending to people in states where payday lending is ILLEGAL! They are using the internet to do it. I have truly learned my lesson..........once I get out of this mess I am done with payday loans! Smile

about 20 people and myself have been going door to door explaining the new law to people.despite the pdl's lying advertisments.i think the law will pass

My question is.. why haven't the Feds come down on these PDL's for loan sharking? They are doing the same things that the mafia did. PDL loan rates clearly violate Federal usury laws.

Here's a suggestion... place a stop payment on your PDL check. If every one of their victims did that, many of those theives would be out of business in a month.

The mafia would be easier to deal with than the PDLs. Stopping a payment won't do a thing. They will just "morph" into someone or something else and take what they want. If it were as easy as that, this would not have gotten to the proportion it is.

Wanna screw over the internet loan companies??? Close the bank account that you used with them, and open another. Stopping payment on your check works too.

It's gonna take more than closing an account and stopping a payment. Like I said, they "morph" so easily you can't keep up with them or tell who is who.

I am supporting the new law in Ohio. I am hoping it passes. I really do wish that it would include more enforcement on the internet pdl's as well. They may be illegal here in Ohio but it does not seem that it is as enforced as it should be. I say this only because my AG rep. said they can contact the company but they can not enforce them to do anything because they are not located in Ohio. Pdl's MUST BE STOPPED!!!

That is right they do not follow the law!!!! We try to pay it down and they give every excuse they can saying they did not receive anything from us. This has happened all to many times.

Nobody wants to screw anyone over they just want to pay what the LAW states and not be harassed by these companies!!

Since many of these pdl lenders are so tightly linked, I doubt they have a large employee base. I truly do not think there are 6,000 people in this 'industry'. Regardless, I don't care if they all lose their jobs..they are deceitful people....they know what they are doing is wrong.

Why would anyone want to work for someone like that. I guess they do not think about the fact that if they ever get into any needs and trouble that they will be treated the same why that they treat others. And they can't say they would never need to use these companies because some of them do.
