sky here...

Since many of these pdl lenders are so tightly linked, I doubt they have a large employee base. I truly do not think there are 6,000 people in this 'industry'. Regardless, I don't care if they all lose their jobs..they are deceitful people....they know what they are doing is wrong.

I don't know if they are ALL deceitful, I do know they're trained to be brash and forceful.

Why would anyone want to work for someone like that. I guess they do not think about the fact that if they ever get into any needs and trouble that they will be treated the same why that they treat others. And they can't say they would never need to use these companies because some of them do.

mandywebb. . I ask myself that same question all the time. I guess it takes a special kind of person to do that kind of work. I know I couldn't live with myself if I were doing to people what they are doing to the members of this board. I realize that all of us need to eat, but come on. There must be something out there that doesn't involve illegal operations.

I am sooooooo tired of these commercials that I keep seeing on tv. I also noticed that they say to bounce a check the bank charges $57 dollars or something like that. I am not sure what bank they are talking about but mine is $39. I rather bounce then have the stinking pdl's and I hate my bank!!

Just saw on the late news this bill is being voted on tomorrow and I only caught the tale end of the story, but it was saying something about CheckSmart and stop issuing loans this evening, but like I say I only heard the tale end, so I'm not sure what's happening, did anyone else in OHIO hear this?

I'm more than a bit offended by PDL supporters saying that if you get in trouble w/ PDL's, you're "irresponsible;" much of the time it's called "- - - - happens!" Say you have a PDL with all intentions of paying it back in full in the allotted time period - in the meantime you have a medical emergency and all of your cash on hand and maybe your next paycheck has to go to cover the emergency, so you extend the PDL. Now, in addition to your regular expenses, you also have the extension fee on the PDL; maybe you take another one out to help pay expenses, and so on... If PDL's are all on the up-and-up, why do so many of their parent companies operate overseas or on Indian reservations in this country so they don't have to abide by State/Federal laws? If they're truly trying to help people, why such horrific interest rates? When people get in trouble and offer to work out payback plans w/ PDL's, why do so many PDL's give these people a hard time rather than try to work with them? "PDL's help people?" Puh-leeze.

RoxyNY, I received those generous offers after I closed out my bank accounts, too; you don't suppose that - gasp! - they wanted to get my new bank account information, do you? Naaah, not our friendly PDLs! Very Happy

I heard from my uncle who went to a pdl place the other day (US Cash) that the staff there told him they were going to be closing down in June because of this new bill.

"Sassnlucy," I guess if these people have to close down, then they'll have to go out and get PDL's to cover their expenses, now won't they? I don't wish bad luck on anyone, but there IS an old saying "what goes around comes around..."
