Getting out of payday loan help

I have been reading and reading all of the messages out there already about PDLs and how to stop them etc. etc. but I think I have come in to late because there is so much language I don't understand. So, let me start here, I am in MI and I want to make sure about legal issues (as I read on the other messages). But can someone take me step-by-step from the beginning (something about a letter being sent? to whom? the bank or the PDL companies?) and ultimately, my question is once you put the freeze on successfully are you paying off those loans on your own then? directly with the individual companies? Also, does anyone know if it is legal in Mi to put a deposits only notice on your checking account? Your messages and information have been so helpful! Thanks!

Vicki, I came to this site 30 days ago with 6 online PDL's, as of today I have received Paid In Full's on 5 of them due to the information I was able to gather here. The first thing I did was explain to my bank what was going on and closed my account after ALL my outstanding items cleared. BTW, I did start this 2 weeks before the PDL's were scheduled to take their payments. After I closed my account I notified the PDL companies by email that we were done (SUEBEEHONEY) provided me with a great letter to adjust to my situation. Since I had already paid off the principle amount borrowed plus the LEGAL fees allowed in California I asked for refunds. I have received one so far for $472.00.

You first need to list all of the companies you have loans with, online or storefront, how much you borrowed, how much you have paid back. Some one with more knowledge than I will be along to help you. It's not that hard but you must be consistent and persistent. Good Luck on your journey!

Hi again Vicki, I understand you have been reading the forums and have a general idea of how to start getting these pdl's taken care of, however, we need to make sure which pdl's are license/legal, and which are not, so if you would please refer back to THIS THREAD and provide us with that information, we would be most happy to figure out a good course of action for you. Smile
