Is anyone else getting harrassing calls from a Derrick Adams? I have not spoken to him personally and do not plan to. He has called my cell twice today and my work phone yesterday. Keeps leaving the same message "....I can't continue to sit on this, I would like to settle it with you, but I can't sit on this much longer without taking action...."

Should I be scared by this, because for some reason I am NOT...LOL I am going to report them to the better business bureau because I was not aware they were operating out of a foreign country number one and number two they have violated my request by attemtpting to contact me at work and thirdly they are practicing business illegally.

I will never ever deal with this crap again............

I wouldn't respond to the harrassing calls if I were you, just hang up on them, they can't harrass you if you don't allow them too. Just hang up without a word. They will eventually tire of it.

Isn't there something in the in collections law about only being able to speak to you (or leave a message) once per day, and only at reasonable hours? Or is that on a state by state basis?

yes,but cash transfer centers is in malta.so anything legal is foreign to them,and i do mean anything.

Don't just report it to the BBB.. Send an email to the Indiana Attorney General too. They will have you fill out an online form. They told me they will mediate to try to reach a solution, but I think sometimes when you let them know that you know your rights, and the laws, they will back off. When you send the initial email to the AG, send a copy to the PDL as well. Mine simply said : This is a copy of an email mailed to the Indiana Attorney General's Office. Followed by the email.

Well Derrick called me again today and left a message, he tried to sound firm when he stated "it would be in your best interest to call me right away, I can't continue, to uh, well please call as soon as possible to resovle this matter" I had to laugh my ass off, he was getting ready to say he couldn't sit on it anymore, they must read from a script and it's sad to think that some people are scared by these tatics.

CTC will call and call. If you miss a payment they will make you repay by Western Union. They are an illegal company. I had 5 calls in one day from them, but they never left a message, then when I did pick up, the caller said they had left messages for me to call. I stated that I had no voice mail messages and he said, well we have tried to leave a message but your voice mail is screwed up. Anyway, after all this is done, I get an email from a MS Ross explaining how to pay back.I call Ms Ross and try to work out a payoff, and state I was layed off, but would be working in a week and can pay on such-such date. Nope they cannot do that is it due by this Friday. I need to call my CTC agent and work it with him, but you are a manager I say, no cannot do this. I call "anthony" , after he leaves a few nasty calls, a few days later, and all the things the FDCPA tells you collectors are NOT to do .. he does.. I offer settlement, he states we are going to collections as I am not being cooperative. How am I being uncooperative,. I asay I will pay what is due..but not till a certain date.. He says call people and ask for money.. can't.. he calls my references..Asks me where is the money from my last companies pay check went, I state it paid for the electric and food for my children for the week. He states that was the incorrect answer, it should have gone to pay him. He is the number one priority.. not my family. I started to get into a shouting match .. then thought ..this is stupid.. my family and my time is more valuable and important than this person trying to get his next TV for getting collecting a debt...he was rude, obnoxius and jsut a plain MORON! so I stopped... his idiotic questions and repsonses went on for 15 min. I told him conversation was over and hung up. I sent them c&d letters, both faxed and mailed, and now I get calls from some lady with a thick accent, saying it is in my best interest to call and take care of this very important and time sensitive matter. Another VIOLATION.. she doesn't tell me who she is or where she is calling from. PLUS they have a letter stating not to call me at work. So I fire off another c&d letter, complete with Fl laws as I found posted in these forums.a complaint to the AG of FL. .. So we shall wait and see.. they are bruttal!!
