I received an email from them today saying I am approved for a personal loan (not a pdl). I did apply online for a personal loan a few days ago when I was trying to figure a way to get my pdl's paid off on a website credit.com, supposedly for bad credit. I looked at their website, and they apparently do mortgages, etc..as well. The problem is, they are not listed on BBB online, and when I put their 866 # in yellowpages.com nothing comes up either. I called the #, and had to leave a voicemail through an automated prompt - almost felt like they are screening their calls.
I'm so jaded after this pdl mess I don't trust anyone!
If anyone has ever heard of them, please let me know.
Thanks!

If you get an email from a lender claiming that you are approved for a loan, then chances are it is a phishing email (an email designed to steal your personal information and use it to make fraudulend purchases or sell it to others who will). To guard against becoming a victim of identity theft, it is best not to click on links in such emails or respond to cush emails and to report them to the FTC. If the lender is a real bank, then call that bank and let them know about the email.
Legitimate businesses don't spam.

Actually, when you go through something like credit.com, you will receive solicitation emails from lenders. I doubt it's a phishing email.
Also, when you apply for pdl's, you will often time get preapproved offers for more pdl's too.

I received an email from them as well. And, I had to do the same thing. I don't want to secure a loan for a company that no one has ever heard of. I am questioning the same thing that everyone else is... and, they are supposed to be open right now (1:42 PST) and I couldn't get anyone in their customer service department or the so called loan rep.

If this came from credit.com, why not contact credit.com and ask them about this lender? They should have some records about them that they can share with you.

UPDATE! Do not do business with these people!!
I had my suspisions after they "screened" my return call so I did some digging. I found them on the BBB website once I put in their complete address in Maine - they are scam artists! They ask for $ upfront to secure your loan, and ppl have said they sent the upfront $ and never recieved the loan.
When "Ryan" finally called me back, he in fact told me I qualified for $5k - but needed to give them $965 first. I laughed, told Mr. "Ryan Anderson" I was filing a complaint and hung up. Then, I filed a complaint to Consumer.Mediation@maine.gov, as well as the FTC.
Also, on the BBB site Ryan Anderson is listed as the sole proprietor - in my email he was listed as my loan officer.
Please stay away from this scam!

I just received the loan papers from them where they said I qualified for a $400,000.00 Loan and all I have to do is send them 3 months payments and in 24 hours I will get my money in the bank. Ha Ha ha Ha Ha! I know I might look stupid, but I would hope that I am not that stupid to send them over $8000.00 to someone I dont know. I was sure this was a scam artist. My husband and I have had a good laugh over it. I will file a report to that consumer mediation place too.

deborah, looks like it is a scam. Please people never send money. Legitimate companies never ask for money up front or pre payment of a loan you have not received. There are so many con artist out there. It is sickening to me that these idiots prey on the most vulnerable of people. Report these companies when they contact you. Repeated reports will eventually get someone in authority's attention.

you are so correct stargazr,in fact all of these scams are not in this country.they are either in the UK or CANADA.any address given in the states is a shell address.no legit company would ask for any upfront money.

I fell for something like this YEARS ago. And it ended up being in the UK. So the state told me I could file a complaint but I probabley wouldn't get my money back because they cannot go after a so called company in a different country. And no I never got a cent back, plus they never found this person. Because as soon as they got my money the 800 was disconnected. Go figure
So listen to the info here. You should NEVER pay for a loan before you get the funds. This person had our personal info and bank account number and I was very worried. Also if they want you to fax papers and to send the money NOT using the USPS run!!!!! But again we cannot stress enough that a ligit company will not have you send them money for a loan!!!
