|
|
I took out a cash adavance/payday loan over the internet for $100.00 back in 2005. I have just been contacted regarding the default and am being harrassed about a new law involving the IRS with any unclaimed money.....and if it's not taken care of the IRS will get involved and there will be fines/fees in excess of $1000.00 or more......
Does anyone know more about this new law?
Or does anyone know what actions they can take against me....
Can I be fined for court fee's, ect.........the total amount due now is $137.50 which I did want to clear up but now am given a deadline to have it paid by before it goes any further.
Please HELP ......

Kala, I am not sure what in the world the IRS has to do with anything...sounds like garbage to me. Could you tell us what state you are in, what company you borrowed from, how much you have paid to them and the name of the company that has been contacting you recently. This information should help us help you get to the bottom of this.

unclaimed money could mean any money that was recieved but not cliamed on your taxes. Yes, the IRS would and does give a hoot about that.

Why would you claim money that you received from payday loans on your taxes? I don't think this is valid, just a threat and another sneaking way to scare you into giving them more of your money.
