I've had this experience w/ PDL's, too. They have their phone banks set up in what sounds like a warehouse in India but if you manage to get their phone number, it's linked to an area code here in the States. What I'd like to know is, if these companies are legitimate as they claim to be, why do they need to hide behind so many different places and facades?

I wish the authorities would so something about this, there are far too many people getting scammed by these weirdos. The more people that file complaints, the better the chances of stopping them, I think! Shocked

RE stopping the scammers; since so many of them ARE located overseas, I don't know how much regulatory authority, if any, the U.S. would have. A shame, too...

I got a call from them, too - I mentioned the attorney general and they seemed to have dissapear. They are a huge, huge scam! I reported them to the FTC, BBB and attorney general's office for my state. I was scared that they were gonna call my work but like i said, they seemed to have dissapeared.
