Calls are starting again

I thought I had gotten rid of these guys. Unfortunately, I got a call again today from someone named Jason saying he as collecting for Quik Payday. It was the same old message ... urgent I call back and he could only wish me good luck if I didn't act on this. I got rid of them once about six weeks ago when I had my attorney call. When he told them he intended to sue them, they hung up on him. I thought I was done with them. Now they start up again. I have never had a loan with Quik Payday and all my past loans are paid off. How the heck do I get rid of these guys??

Sue them! Don't ya wish, actually, it's a difficult feat, payday lender employees who work for illegal pdl's have a limited vocabulary, and an even more limited ability to understand normal thinking. Laughing

I have the same thing happening. I thought I was finally done with them and today I got some more threats from a loan from about 2 years ago. It's ridiculous but hang in there, it can only get better.

Ignore them, hang up on them, whatever; they're a real pain, aren't they? Rather like those corpses in horror movies - you think they're dead and then they suddenly spring back to life. You could TRY asking them to send something in writing on their company letterhead stating that they have legitimate business with you, but the odds are very good they won't do it.

Ignore them, I've read some threads where people used whistles or air raid horns as well. Whatever it takes to make them go away Twisted Evil

Holding down the #3 button on the phone is pretty effective. The important thing, though, is not to talk to them. Collectors don't sial their own phones and don't pick and choose who is going to get called. A computer called a "predictive dialer" does it. The dialer makes lists, called "queues" based on its calculation of how likely you are to pay. Newer debt always goes into a queue for a while. How long depends on the company. After that the computer measures how long the calls last (regardless of whether you are negotiating or cursing the collector out) and decides whether to keep you in the queue or not. The more time you spend on the phone, the more likely you are to eventually pay, statisically. So you'll stay in the queue longer.

What does holding down the #3 actually do?

So, are you saying I may still be in the que for awhile? These calls started around the first part of June, lasted for about a month and then stopped. I thought I had gotten rid of them and then they started up the first part of August. This is when I had my attorney call them. I thought he had finally gotten rid of them. So, should I not have him call back then?? Will they eventually go away completely? I have never had a loan with Quik Payday and have no idea why they keep calling.

www.grandcentral.com is a great way to block numbers you dont want calling you. This also gives you the option of screening callers or recording calls if a pesky debt collector calls and threatens you with outrageous demands and so forth. Good luck i hope this helps you in the future.
